Not at all, not being able to fully watch the game so not being able to see the majority of Gaudreau play was disappointing. Not sure what the problem is.

He draws players in, it's amazing. He made one guy look foolish and three guy players had to try to go after him. It's a unique quality that few high skilled players have. He makes opposing players forget their plan and go for him.

It would be one thing if it was just some random Swiss-league scrub, but doing that against an NHL-er is what makes you get a little excited. Regardless of points, I have a feeling we'll see him embarrass a few other players like that next year. He's so damn sneaky.

He also ends up so Josi has his back turned to him, gives him the best opportunity to make the shot. I don't know what else any player could have done in that situation better than Johnny did it. Maybe if the puck had been a little higher Berra might have missed it.

I really don't believe Berra actually saw the shot. He was fortunate to have his glove in the right place at the right time.

My big concerns for J God were that he wouldn't be able to handle the larger more physical players and that he'd inevitably get hurt. but I guess in teh NCAA he was probably playing against 22 years olds and potentially older. University players are generally more mature than junior players.
But after watching him in both games so far at the WC I think he'll be just fine. He can stick handle in a phone booth and is super quick so players have a hard time getting a solid hit on him. He also has great vision, goes where they aren't. He'd also very good with his speed enabling him to strip opponents of the puck.
He brings a set of tool that only a couple of current players have (Cammy and Hudler). And my bet is that Cammalleri's gone this summer.
Welcome to the team J God. You'll be our first line left winger after about 10 games.

I like how he backchecks also. He comes at the player with the puck from behind at an angle at high speed. He cuts in front of him and takes the puck off of him or at least knocks it away from him. Because of the speed at which he does this the forward's weight and strength advantage are neutralized. You can see how Johnny has learned to use his strengths and minimize his weaknesses. What a smart player!

I do believe you said you weren't a Johnny fan in another thread, but damn, I don't know where your expectations were if you called that disappointing. Maybe you don't wanna admit it, but Sven is no longer the top prospect on the system. Try really watching before splurting nonsense next time.

When I first heard of GODreau I looked up his prospect data that said he was something like 5'4 140 and I thought you guys were crazy despite his growth he's still pretty small but when I watch him you don't even notice it and never looks out of place. I hope he can stay in Calgary long term.
