nice that we beat Slovakia but let's just back up for a second. How on earth did we lose to France?

both plays were actually offside though, I'm sure they won't be happy about it but next time stay onside

Of course they were but there was a delay in calling both plays. That would never happen in the NHL in succession like that as well.

They had to huddle to make the right offside call. That usually only happens (and rarely) on goals not on two offside calls minutes apart.

Anyways, sucks for the Swiss. I was kinda hoping to see overtime.

That 2nd goal was clearly NOT offside...

And it isn't even reviewable, so I'm not sure why they were checking on it..

It looked like the linesman made the call in both situations but the crowd was so loud that the Swiss players couldn't hear the whistle.

Highlights from the Sweden 3-0 over Denmark.

Backlund almost had a hat trick. Puck just failed to cross the line

They were likely checking the clock to make sure it was reset to the correct time.

Oh yeah...Backlund...he's in this tournament too.

With all the Gaudreau, Baertschi and Monahan talk Backlund's kind of under the radar around here.

No, it was on-side..

As long as your back foot is touching the blue line or is on the other side of the blue line, it is on-side.

However, is his back skate touching the ice? If it is not touching the ice, then it is offside.
