1 goal and 2 assists in his first world championship game, this kid just keeps proving the doubters wrong. Hope he keeps it up against tougher competition.

This kid is electric every time he gets possession of the puck in the neutral zone. He's so elusive and quick he just flys past people into the offensive zone. Hard not to get excited about his potential.

This kid makes it hard to temper expectations. What a stud.

I just decided to no longer temper my expectations.

Kid is going to be better than Gretzky.

Watch him have a 60+ point rookie season just like Patrick Kane. Not saying it'll be next season, but whenever it happens to be.

I'd dare suggest it just because he's so consistent. And even when he has an off night, he still manages to finish off a single play/rush late in the game and get himself on the scoresheet. He knows when to strike and makes good on the first chance when he's sees an opportunity. Kind of like today. I guess he wasn't great early on, some posters were remarking on some turnovers, and then he came out of nowhere and made a ridiculous individual play to provide the back breaker for Belarus. Then he followed it up with two primary assists to come out like a boss. Just so dangerous..I can't say enough good things. We have several players in the tournament, but I can't help but only really be drawn to the US games out of such intrigue for what he's going to do next. And he hasn't failed to deliver.

What I thought was interesting is that split second where he slightly moves around the stick before he shoots.

It looks to me like the defender's stick elevates the puck which happens quite often... guess I need glasses then if that's not the case.

Yup puck is already past the defender before his stick comes and taps into Johnny's skate. Also holy crap did that make me grumpy how he mangled Johnny's last name in that clip.

Agreed, it's not God-reau. If anything, He's the Son of God-reau. The Saviour.

That was a beautiful shot by Johnny Hockey. He used the defender as a screen, and shot it through the defender's legs to go top shelf on the goalie.

Hopefully that clip will be on the highlights. It was so slick. They have replayed it a couple times. Almost scores off it too.
