Babcock, Cooper and Roy Named Jack Adams Finalists
Has to be Patrick Roy. From 29th place to division champs in one year.

I think Roy will take it. It would be pretty neat to see a decorated goalie like him add more to his trophy case.

Hard to count out Babcock, it's pretty amazing what he did with Detroit.

Cooper did great things too. The Lightning stayed competitive, even after Stamkos broke his leg. Probably had a lot to do with Bishop, but still.

Hard to believe Babcock's never won this award... (and likely won't this year either).

Bleh.
Would rather Cooper or Babcock won than Roy, since the other two teams weren't rebounding after a tankjob.

I'm sure Roy will win it because of him being the flashy pick and the difference in standings from last year to this year. I still think Babcock deserves it though.

Babcock is my pick as IMO this may have been his most brilliant season when you consider the injuries he faced on a roster that's really on the decline as far as their top players go.
Roy did do a great job there is no doubt about that but you the whole "worst to first" thing needs an asterisk as he did it with the same roster that should have finished nowhere near the bottom of the league last year in one of the most orchestrated tank jobs in the history of the NHL. Also anytime a goaltender plays out of his mind in a career year a head coach ends up looking a lot better than he really was.
Cooper did a great job as well but the Lightning's low finish the season before was also a bit of a mirage as all the bounces went against them in the 1 goal losses and the goaltending situation that sank them the season before was also resolved.

Agree with everyone else, it should really be Babcock or Coooper, but it's going to be Roy.

IMO Babcock should win it. He got every last ounce out of the roster that he had.
Roy gets a big asterisk as the Avs severely underachieved last year - I think they would have shown improvement under pretty much any new coach.
Bishop made Cooper look good.

I really hope Patrick Roy doesn't win. He took control of a team that had a lot of the pieces (Duchene, Landeskog, O'Reilly, Mackinnon) that tanked hard last year. I think any coach would be successful with their roster, except Joe Sacco

If only the award was worded "the coach judged to have contributed the most to another coaches failure".

This is so true. Dallas Eakins water bottle incidents and all likely could have got that roster to a better winning percentage than last year.

Roy - Coached a team to a Division championship one season after they finished 29th in the league.
Babcock - Got a severely injured team full of rookies into the playoffs. Missing star players Datsyuk and Zetterberg for most of the season.
Cooper - Got the Lightning into the playoffs, even though his best player missed more than half the season with a broken leg.
Sutter - Coached an elite team to 3rd in the Pacific division.
Darryl is a good coach, but he shouldn't be anywhere near the Jack Adams this season.

Playoffs aren't taken into consideration for the Adams trophy and their regular season wasn't anything special.

GOAT!

I get a kick out of people saying that Roy shouldn't win it because all he did was take a team that underachieved last year and led them to a division title this year.
Isn't that the exact argument one would make for actually WINNING the award?
