Where ever the ball is, Bradley is there. The guy is having a lot more of an impact than Defoe. But man is JD lethal once he has the ball. On both goals he had 2-3 guys on him.

Those two chances by Defoe almost certainly wouldn't have found the back of the net with last year's roster. I really hope the team can stay healthy beyond the existing injuries. I REALLY wish Dike was available off the bench. Wiedeman isn't the most devastating depth up front.

TFC is dominating this game against DC United... the new additions look really, really good.

There is still just too much diving and flopping around in MLS for the game to get any entertaining flow going.

It was a fantastic performance. Especially considering the horrible field conditions that probably took a goal or two away from TFC.

I was really impressed by Gilberto. I won't be surprised at all if he and Defoe are the top scoring set of strikers in the league by season's end. I just hope they can stay healthy.

I agree; I much preferred Gilberto up there with Defoe over De Rosario. Gilberto was dangerous and I am excited to see him play again.

So, can TFC go 3-0 for the first time in club history? Tripling their best ever season start of 1-0? Matching their franchise high win streak?

I think this is going to be a tough one. Both games played so far could have been draws with less good fortune. Hopefully they've continued to put it together in training and head to Rio Tinto and put in a good performance against a tough team. Looks like RSL has some key players missing, including Plata, which will help.

Playing at Salt Lake is tough. Im predicting a 1-1 draw.

News: Toronto FC Signs Canadian international midfielder Issey Nakajima-Farran.

Quote:
“Issey has been training with the club on and off for a number of weeks and is quite familiar with the coaches and players. We needed to add another wide player to our roster and we are confident he will be able to fit in nicely here at TFC.”

Nakajima-Farran, 29, most recently spent time on loan at Cypriot First Division club, Alki Larnaca FC from AEK Larnaca FC, also of the Cypriot First Division during the 2012-13 season.

What a horribly ugly game. Also concerning seeing Defoe leave the field grabbing at his hamstring.

This was a good way to reset expectations, as TFC is a long way from being a contender.

Toledo is a ridiculous ref. That guy ruins games for spectators. He's over the top strict.

I have no doubt that Portland will get their first victory of the season today. Noon kickoffs for Cascadia matches are bull####, though.

Gah! That match was fantastic, and terrible at the same time.

I can't believe the Timbers gave up a 4-2 lead with 6 minutes to go...

Great game by TFC's depth players with Defoe, Caldwell, Henry, Morgan and Osorio all out of action. I thought Bekker played the best I've ever seen him play in a TFC shirt.

Also, good to see Canadian international Nakajima-Farran pot one.

Calgarian Nakajima-Farran!

Agreed on Bekker. It's the first time I haven't been yelling at my TV for him to stop standing still. I wonder if it's just the change in system with running a double pivot? If you don't get back when Bradley goes up, you're in trouble.

Very impressive considering the players out of the lineup. This is the team that should have been blanked, not the one that lost to RSL last week.

Wonder if he's related to local politician and SAS legend Roy Farran.

The early season TFC optimism is crushed.

Hopefully Gilberto finds some confidence before he becomes the Jonathan Cheechoo of MLS.

This team looks to be in huge trouble when World Cup rolls around, and the revolving door at midfield has left them with zero chemistry, and not the big buffer in points for a playoff spot we'd all hoped.

Ugh.

Congratulations and good luck to 17 year old Calgarian and Whitecaps homegrown, Marco Carducci, who on Wednesday gets the start in goal against TFC in the Voyageur's Cup.

Robinson confirmed on Monday that Canadian midfielders Russell Teibert (21) and Bryce Alderson (20) and goalkeeper Marco Carducci (17) will each start on Wednesday. It will be the Whitecaps FC first-team debut for Alderson and Carducci, who both graduated from the club’s Residency program.

Timbers get off the schneid with a last minute goal from former TFC forward Maxi Urruti. Hopefully this will be the type of result that snowballs into a nice run of victories.
