I sincerely hope Jack Glover becomes a part of the Flames organization. Fits the bill in every aspect. Call me crazy but he should get taken with the Flames own second round pick if he makes it there or unless a highly ranked forward drops to them.
At least I hope anyways. Darn good prospect. The team that gets him should have a keeper for a long time.

The only forward that I'd take at 34 is Nicolas Magyar. (I haven't reviewed all the players from 24-45 in the CSS rankings yet for the articles I will be doing for my draft preview, only have reviewed 11 of them thus far.)
Cornel, Bleakley are both are just there. Nothing to write home about and Goldobin while talented is also Russian, and I'd prefer to avoid that whole headache with picks in the top 3 rounds.

Really like Glover but would much rather have Jack Dougherty. The American defenseman can play any role. He has a big frame and throws his weight and doesn't let forwards get position on him. He reads plays very well and will get in the way of passes. He is very strong on offense as well. Confident puck mover who makes great stretch passes. He's mobile and knows when to jump into the rush. Fine on the PP.
Forwards I'd like to see drop are Anton Karlsson. Doubt he will though. I have Jack 20th on my prospect list.

I second Magyar. Really like what I've seen and heard about him so far...I'd bet there's a pretty nice ceiling on him right now too.

Definitely one of the defencemen I hope the Flames will be looking at come draft day. Good to know he is going to the Badgers - great program there for defencemen!

I'm gonna give you my picks for all 7 rounds, plus my 2nd, 3rd options.
1st Round, 4th Overall: Sam Bennett C from the Kingston Frotenacs, OHL
57(GP)-36(G)-55(A)-91(PTS):6'0, 181lbs, shoots left, Jun 20th, 1996
Bennett should fall to 4 because the Oilers love Draisaitl. Bennett in a Toews like draft situation comes to the Flames and could get their franchise. Bennett plays the most complete game in the draft. Has such a high compete level and will do anything to win. Is so calm under pressure and can stick handle very well in tight spaces. He excels behind the net. Bennett will win every battle and will go all out on his back check. He is very good at getting in his oppositions space. Very quick release on his shot and has some pretty good speed. Always aware of his teammates and opposition. He can play in any situation especially late in the game. #93 isn't the only thing Doug "Killer" Gilmour and Sam Bennett have in common, Bennet idolized Killer as a kid and now they play the exact same styles.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svCdZiNfbvg
NHL COMPARISON: Doug Gilmour
NHL ETA: 2015/2016
SKATING: 5/5
SHOT: 5/5
HANDS: 5/5
200ft GAME: 5/5
ICE Q: 4/5
"He plays with all heart, if you take the puck off him, he's gonna get it back, you hit him, he hits you back. His compete level is off the map. He always comes out with the puck in the corners. He's got great hands and vision. He can score goals and play make. I'm just in awe when I watch him play. -Doug Gilmour, coach
option 2: Sam Reinhart C, Kootenay
If he falls. Very mature and poised. Very high I.Q and vision especially in the offensive end. Soft hands. Complete game and always battle hard. Makes defenders play his game.
option 3: Leon Draisaitl C, Prince Albert
Best passer in the draft. High Ice Q, uses his size to protect the puck. He's a Joe Thornton/Anze Kopitar hybrid.
ROUND 2, 34TH OVERALL JACK DOUGHERTY D FROM THE USHL
23-4-8-12:6'2, 186lbs, shoots right, May 25th, 1996
Dougherty will be heading to the U of Wisconsin this fall. He's a very good two way defenseman. He can shut down any team's top player. He's very smart. Poised with the puck he can fire good two way passes to breakout of the zone. He can QB a PP and always seems to find the open man even with defenders coming hard at him. He knows when to jump into the rush and is effective when he joins. Never out of position Jack won't let attackers get an open shooting or passing lane. Throws his weight around but won't let himself get out of position. Doesn't let players get position on him. Dougherty has a very high compete level. Blocks a lot of shots. If he can improve his skating I believe he can be a top pair guy.

NHL ETA: 2016/2017
SKATING: 3/5

Two way defenseman who is very mobile. Has a physical game and smart in all 3 zones. Good passer out of his zone.

2ND ROUND, 58TH OVERALL: RYAN COLLINS FROM THE USHL
26-0-2-2:6'5, 202lbs, shoots right, May 6th, 1996
Collins is a big defender who has finally caught up to his size. His foot speed has really improved. He has the size everyone looks at in a defenseman. He uses his size well in clearing the net and winning battles. Also he uses his reach to poke the puck away or disrupt passing lanes. Very good in transition and is very good positionally. Collins has a strong breakout pass to get the rush going. Great Ice Q in his own end. As Collins will continue to build and mature on a strong season at U of Minnesota.

NHL Comparison: Chris Pronger
NHL ETA: 2017/2018
SKATING: 3/5
SHOT: 2/5
LANE BLOCKING: 4/5
200ft GAME: 4/5
ICE Q: 4/5
"From the beginning of the season to the end, there might not have been a player who developed more than Collins. He's always had the size element that would intrigue everybody. But he's developed into a pretty good all-around player, and he's only going to get better" -Unknown NHL Scout
option 2: Ben Thomas D, Calgary
Great offensive instincts. Phenomenal skater and good first pass. Throws his weight around.
option 3: Hunter Smith LW, Oshawa
Big winger who was passed on the last two drafts.
3RD ROUND, 64TH OVERALL: NICK MAGYAR FROM THE KITCHENER RANGERS OHL
66-20-26-46:6'2, 194lbs, shoots right, May 29th, 1996
Magyar has improved his game a lot in the last couple years. His style of play is suited for the NHL. Can plays rush game or cycle. Has some speed on the wing. Plays physical, good back checker and goes to the dirty areas. Good offensive vision. Great shot and good positionally. Fairly raw but really developing. If he becomes a bit more physical he can be an effective top 6 winger. Magyar has been climbing the draft rankings all year and is in a position where he can go 2nd round. Has a goal scoring mind and lead the Rangers in goals in his rookie year.

NHL ETA: 2017/2018
SKATING: 4/5
SHOT: 4/5
HANDS: 2/5

Magyar is a complete player who has strong hockey sense. He has the raw talent and playmaking abilities to eventually be a successful NHL player. Makes smart plays with the puck on his stick, likes to play physical and is effective in both the forecheck and cycle game -FC
option 2: Blake Siebanler D, Niagara
Offensive D-man can also kill penalties and has a good shot.
option 3: Alexis Vanier D, Baie-Comeau
Huge D-man intimidates with physicality and big point shot.
3RD ROUND, 85TH OVERALL: JACOB MIDDLETON D FROM THE OTTAWA 67'S, OHL
65-2-21-23:6'2, 208lbs, shoots right, JAN 2nd, 1996
Middleton has good size which he uses well. Has great mobility. Great skater overall who can pivot well and transition from offence to defines well. Very strong and will win battles along the boards. This is a development pick. Needs to use his speed better to close in on offensive players. He can jump into the rush. Great smarts, especially in the offensive ends and can read passes and gets in the way. Moves the puck well. Middleton will throw his weight around as well.

NHL COMPARISON: Kieth Yandle
NHL ETA: 2017/2018
SKATING: 4/5
SHOT: 3/5
LANE BLOCKING: 3/5
200ft GAME: 3/5
ICE Q: 3/5
Middledon is a big-bodied, two-way defender that has strong mobility and a willingness to jump into the play. He makes heady passes and shows good vision and on-ice smarts. He isn't afraid to add a physical tone to the game, either -FC
option 2: Daniel Audette C, Sherbrooke
Undersized pivot is highly skilled and battles hard
option 3: Keegan Iverson RW, Portland
High compete level with a lot of skill. Knows how to hit
6TH ROUND, 179TH OVERALL: MATT MURPHY D, HALIFAX MOOSEHEADS, QMJHL
64-10-26-36:6'2, 198lbs, shoots left, MAY 1st, 1995
Went undrafted last year Murphy has all the tools to be a good defenseman, he just needs to put them together. Developed in the last two years in Halifax and has really progressed in his own zone. He's very mobile and he can jump into the rush. Good offensive vision and makes the extra pass. He has size and he needs to use it a bit more on the physical side but he uses his reach to knock pucks away. Doesn't wander in his own end and knows where the opposition is at all times. He can eat a lot of minutes and improves with minutes. If he puts everything together and polishes his game he can be a good NHL defenseman and a steal.

NHL COMPARISON: Adam McQuaid
NHL ETA: 2016/2017
SKATING: 3/5
SHOT: 2/5
LANE BLOCKING: 3/5
200ft GAME: 4/5
ICE Q: 3/5
“Matt Murphy has played very well, especially lately,” He’s such a powerful skater and a very skilled hockey player. He’s really elevated his game the last couple of weeks with all the injuries we’ve had. He’s done a terrific job. He’s always had an offensive flair to his game and he’s got a pro shot. That’s one of the things the coaches wanted to see — him using his shot more. Now he’s doing it and he’s scored a couple the last few games. And he’s a heads-up player so I see a guy that’s capable of playing an offensive role as well.” -Mooseheads GM Cam Russell
option 2: Joe Hicketts D, Victoria
Doubt he falls but small defenseman who plays big and has lots of mobility would be a steal
option 3: Chase Lang RW, Calgary
Hard worker who hits and has some speed, great PKer. Should be effective bottom 6 player
7TH ROUND, 184TH OVERALL: SEBASTION FUCHS LW FOR KANAI RIVER, NAHL
57-12-26-38:5'10, 180 lbs, shoots left, September 15th 1996
Swedish winger who is very quick and has an elite hockey sense. He keeps plays alive. He's the youngest kid in his class and I think if he was next years draft he'd go 5th round. He can carry a team and PP the powerplay. Very consistent. Great puck possession and a great give and go player. Great in small spaces.

NHL COMPARISON: Paul Byron

option 2: Tanner Faith D, Kootenay
Big RHD defenseman who plays a raw game and has some offensive ability

Every time I've seen you post something on CP, Monahan23, you put up a solid post. Kudos for all the time and effort you put in.
In the seventh round, I wouldn't mind the Flames going with Tanner Faith instead. Watched him a bit with Kootenay and he'll be the go-to guy very soon for the Ice. Kootenay doesn't have a "stud" per se, so Faith being the go-to guy could be huge for his development. I won't say a late round steal, but he could actually become something in situation he's in.

Kinda hard to predict into the 7th, but I'd be interested in Ryan Mantha or Jacob Middleton. Mantha is a massive shutdown defence, something the Flames may need more of as the small-ish two-way defence seems filled out at the moment while Middleton is a high ceiling, all situation player who you want to covet so late: massively low risk, high reward. Given his limited exposure until this season I could imagine he is under the radar a little even if Konecny is drawing scouts to the 67's.
