Sports at 11:00
First off good for Grant, hopefully we all are able to retire one day.
Does anyone know what the other three from Sports @ 11:00 aro doing? I've seen Lownsbrough on shaw few times doing his golf show but havent seen Manz forever or Toth (the pride os Bassano) since he was done with Sprtsnet. I remember Ron Manz nearly getting killed bungee jumoing one show when he missed the pool and almost went head first into the cement floor. Unfourtanelty TSN, then Sportsnet killed to local late night sports hilight shows and I miss them.

Who??? Grant Pollock was good during the Ed Whalen days and Sports at 11 days with mike Lownsborough and Mike Toth. After that, he just went downhill. I think he started hanging around with Eric Francis and Dowboy and tried to copy them at times.
Anyways good luck to Grant on his retirement! I didn't think he's on retiring ages already.

wonder if Mike L is applying for some of these jobs......

Mike L has burned almost every media relationship in the city. At this point I doubt any production company would work with him. Also, last I heard, his son was his "camera guy" because he burned through relationships with almost all of his contractors as well. I'm good friends with his previous camera man and I briefly worked with him as well. Total self entitled a-hole.
He was fired from Global so I doubt he'd be wanted back.
Grant Pollock was a great guy to work with however. He deserves this.

We might not have 30 minutes of Sports@11 anymore, but we have a local radio station dedicated to hockey pretty much all day. That's not too bad.
Add in all the info and entertainment of CP and hey, it's a pretty good time to be a hockey fan.

That's what I've gathered on Twitter today, she's been mentioned in a couple tweets. I didn't know that.

I had the opportunity to speak briefly with Grant a few weeks back, and he was a very nice and engaging person. What's with all the good media people vacating at the same time.

I think Grant Pollock use to run the site http://www.outlawsportstv.com/ with Mike Lownsbrough for awhile, but I think it's pretty dead there now. No vids since April of last year. I kind of liked it. They even did sports shorts every once in awhile like the old days.
Anyways, thanks Grant, always enjoyed your work!

Sports @ 11 was just so awesome. Best of luck to Grant in retirement.
You know you're getting old when all the people you've listened to/watched growing up are retiring...

Just heard on the radio listen to Grant that Ron Manz doing a bed-and-breakfast in the Okanagan, he hasn't had the best health lately, Mike Toth actually called in and he's in Toronto working for similar station there as to what we have here in 770 as a sports director. I think somebody above mentioned with Mike L, he doing sales for some oil and gas company plus other things. We'll miss you Grant, a job well done. Thanks for the memories

Oh yeah, I remember Sports at 11 on 2&7. I would always try to stay up way past my bed time to watch the hockey highlights. Then we got TSN and SportsDesk was on at 9. Sports at 11 was never really watched again.

While I love how accessible TSN an SN are, I find that all they are doing is giving me easier access to info that I don't give a crap about. I hate all things Toronto, think baseball is boring, and fall asleep during (C) Raptor highlights, making the 30 secs or less they spend on the Flames not worth it. Looking back at Sports@ 11, it was probably the last time that High School, Midget AAA, Dino's, Trojans etc etc had consistent coverage in this City. Grant Pollock's retirement is a reminder of what we have lost, which in a weird way is the ultimate tribute to his career.
Also I wish I found outlaw sports earlier, there is some great stuff on there, too bad it is no longer current
