Neat! New skywalk in the Columbia Icefields. Might be time to do a trip to Jasper.

At least it is only $25 unlike the $50 they charge at the Grand Canyon skywalk. It has been a while since I've to the Jasper area and I've been wanting to head out there for the glacier bus ride.

jasper is so much nicer than banff........the glacier walk looks cool - can't say that i am keen to do the CN Tower walk though....
can't get a sense of how high the glacier walk is above the valley floor

I didn't think it was done yet. I drove past it last Sunday and the whole thing looked under construction still. The glass floor was in though and there was no one working so I was tempted to stop and check it out.

I think that number is actually in meters, so you are pretty much taller than the Bow building (by 64m) above the valley floor.

I think it's great and look forward to going there.
I do think however, that a better spot could have been found. Where it is and with the slope of the hill beneath, it is not as awesome as could be. Just my two cents.
I am aware they cannot move the grand canyon up here, and easy car access was important.

The view itself doesn't seem to be any more interesting than you get from the side of the road, but I'm assuming the experience of being so far out form the edge would help that.

It probably was when they started construction.
Have you guys ever stood on the glass floor in the Calgary Tower? That's pretty trippy. I imagine this would be a bit of a thrill and the price seems reasonable. It's enough to get me to go to Jasper this year or next.

I don't like this type of development in National Parks. This takes away from the landscape for a parlour trick. Better than doing this would be hiking up to Wilcox pass. An easy 4k hike with amazing views of the Athabasca glacier.
This is another thing built for the buses

I think this development is silly given how many views there are from natural settings. parks Canada should be hesitant to open Jasper up too much to commercial development. It's charm is that it isn't another banff.

I'm a bit wary of more development in Jasper.
I also keep meaning to do some googling on the numbers and logistics - Brewster doing all these attractions (which means their branding on everything) vs. Parks Canada.
