Well that was a fun season while it lasted. And now with full hindsight they obviously should have tanked the season.

Lowry was fouled at least 3 times. That wasn't a block.

No offense, but that's an idiotic statement to make, and you should know better.

Ah well. Great year by the boys. Blew all off-season expectations out of the water. The future is looking up.

Possibly, but at the end of the game you aren't getting a call. I mean Ginobli got fouled clear as day in OT of Game 6 of the Finals last year and it wasn't called. Lowry should have given it up but he went for the hero shot.

And why does it have to be more exciting than the NHL playoffs to be enjoyed?
Seriously, leave the thread. No one cares about the NHL in this thread. It's a basketball thread. Don't like basketball? Then don't click on the thread. Not a single person is saying the NBA is more exciting that the NHL.

Partially joking...but if they lose Lowry this summer than obviously this season was two steps forward, three steps back.

I might be the single largest poster in the NBA thread....my point was it took 30 minutes of real time to play 80 seconds of game action. Not sure how anyone can say thats a good thing.

Yeah they need to keep Lowry, or somehow find someone better to replace him (which probably won't happen). Also Ross and Jonas need to do more next year, as they didn't really take as much of a step forward this season as I am sure was expected from them.

They need to get players who get the calls from the Refs in the big games.

Ok so what was your point in that post then? That the NBA isn't as exciting as the NHL? I don't think I've ever heard someone on CP claim it was more exciting than the NHL.
You could have said that without mentioning the NHL but for some reason there are people on CP that trash basketball and baseball because it's not as awesome as the NHL.
I like the NHL, but that doesn't make me dislike basketball or baseball or even the CFL any less and I don't have to compare one to the other to enjoy either one.

I don't think that was the smartest move for Raps. 3 guys was standing around and watching Lowry forcing for a shot.
Raptors lose because there was no urgency on their play earlier and at the same time referee was a big factor in this game. 2-3 of Amir Johnson's fouls are so questionable and he was actually the best player for them before he fouled out. Their defense and rebounding was awful. Their young guys looks like they have nerve problems. JV didn't have a good game and T.Ross shot selection was terrible. All Brooklyn has to do is keying in Derozan and Lowry earlier. Give credit to Nets offense as well. Thornton had a huge game for them and Joe Johnson been toying on Raps defense all game.
Anyways, at least Raps made the game exciting at the end. For a team whom a lot of people predicted to be on the lottery draft played well after the Rudy Gay trade.

Celebrated Square Root Day

Well that was fun. At the end of the day the nba's not real, and it showed a few times tonight, so you can't get too upset I guess. I wonder how long before they get caught match fixing again?
Can't wait for next season though.

I think Lowry will be foolish to go somewhere when he finally have the starting PG position sealed on.

I could have lived with awful reffing if it wasn't the exact same ref making all the bad calls against Toronto.
No question in my mind he took bribes from someone. Maybe a gambling organization or someone in the Brooklyn organization.
That last steal and his delayed reaction to whose ball it was made it so evident. It pained him to make the right call and I think he took a crap on the court while making it.

Here's the thing, it's not match fixing if it's not written or said. It's part of the culture and understanding where it's a simple ratings fix. Everything is about the ratings, and the refs understand this. I'm still pretty steamed myself.

It will come. Derozan took a few seasons as well before he took the bull by the horn this season. I think T.Ross need to learn better on his decision making. He too can be a difference maker as well when he goes to the net a lot instead of trying for 3-pointers. JV needs to improve his rebounding positioning but that will come. The team needs to use his size. I hope Patterson will be back next season. He is a good bench player to give JV and Amir a rest. I like Chuck Hayes too but I don't care much about Novak and Heinsomething(sorry can't remember his name).

Great season, very entertaining. Last season the Jays were hyped and flopped out, this season the Raps were panned coming into it, but exceeded expectations.
This is what I love about sports, it's not all predictable.
I hope they're not too down on themselves right now. A few of them could have had better games, but the Nets are a good team.

It's fine, doesn't bother me. They need to design plays.
There is no rush, what are people in Toronto doing now? Just walking home.
