No issue with the town itself other than it doesn't have any redeeming qualities that would get a visit out of me (I will take a drive out to Cochrane once in a while). If you live and work there and enjoy it, awesome!

At least they don't complain about Calgarians using THEIR Costco...I'm looking at you Okotoks.

I actually find it rude when people move to Airdrie and then invite you to their place for dinner or a party or whatever. Um, no thanks. That drive is your albatross; not mine.

They sure are proud of THEIR Costco aren't they? Yeah, it's less crowded than Heritage, but it would be dead if Calgarians were not shopping there. When I first heard the Calgary attitude on the subject, I decided to stop going there. Perhaps they will reciprocate and stay the hell away from OUR C-Train park and ride stations.

If I ever come into some money one of the greatest joys it will bring me is never stepping foot in a Costco again.

Either way, Airdrie is no good and people go missing there.

My best friend must have been captured by that same group. Have seen him once in almost two years since he moved to Airdire and that was a at funeral. He must have gotten a day pass not to arouse suspicion.

I lost my friends Marco and Karly to the same affliction. Marco if you're reading this, let me know if you need me to park at the town limits when you make the great escape.
I love Airdrie only because it's like the anti-christ for latte sippers.

Always thought of Airdrie as a parking lot. Okotoks is much nicer with the valley and mountain views.
It does put Balzac to shame though.

Ha? Why is that? Costco is not cheap. Even when buying in bulk you barely save anything and most times you are paying more than if you'd just buy 4 individual items from Wal-Mart.
The only reason I shop at Costco is their selection and how they carry stuff that no one else does. Not for their prices. There are some things that are cheaper at Costco but most things aren't. You just have to know which items are and aren't. 32 cans of coke for 12 dollars isn't a good deal when Wal-Mart almost always has them for $3.33 for 12 or $10 for 36.
Sorry for the rant but I hate hearing how Costco is a good place to save money. It really isn't unless you own a store or have a family of 22 people.

Plus all the dumb crap you end up impulse buying. Like licorice cigars. I never feel the urge to buy 24 of those and eat them in a single sitting unless I'm on a Costco run.

If you enjoy pain, abuse and anxiety, shop at Costco.
That place is the worst place in the world.... Besides Airdrie.

How many fried chicken joints are there in Airdrie? If the town only has 2-3 is proclaiming they are the "best friend chicken in town" really an accomplishment?

I'd be curious to know how many people ragging on Airdrie live in the Mckenzie Towne area and other remote Calgary neighbourhoods.

I live in Airdrie, work off of 114th ave south. Takes me 30 mins to get to work usually, I work with a guy that lives in westgate and another that lives by varsity, theyre both usually 40-45mins. My drive is almost all highway and ring road, straight and peaceful, they both deal with the sea of a-holes that is Calgary traffic. Not to mention I can get anywhere in Airdrie in less than 10 minutes and I don`t recall ever being flipped off or losing my mind driving around Airdrie before. Calgary on the other hand...
TLDR; Lived in Airdrie, moved to calgary, back to Airdrie, couldn`t pay me enough to move back to the city, to each his own I guess.

I think this says it all right here, he moved to Airdrie and doesnt feel the need to associate with his Calgary friends anymore. This is not uncommon, he gained superior friends.

Airdrie is a decent little town. And to be honest it has one of if not the best recreation centers in all of Alberta.

In what ways is Airdrie better than Calgary?
Also, Google map your door-to-door commute and tell us with a straight face your drive is only 30 minutes in rush hour. I just checked 114th Ave to "Airdrie, AB" and it was 34 minutes using Stoney when there is no traffic.
