Also I have a feeling that the mafia is just sitting quietly and letting us spin our tires. I have no proof, it's just a hunch.

Also for the record Strombad, I didn't vote for you because you voted for me. I voted for you because I feel that you were cherry picking my posts and manipulating/ignoring what I actually said. That makes me suspicious of you.

But we have bigger things to deal with at the moment, so I'll leave it at that.

will have to catch up on a few things after work today and carefully review ineedanother's posts. I go back and forth on him really being the vigilante or not, to be honest ... and it's vital for us to get this right. Can't afford to go such a useful ability to waste, especially since there are only townies with 4 abilities this time.

For now, in the hope of getting more input from the low-post dudes, I'll throw a vote towards transplant99. A single (!) post since the game started, and that was a short "I'm here" post on page 4 of 20. Whatever his role in the game - you can't have less activity than this dude has had. My vote could easily change once I've reviewed the last few pages though.

Yeah i had an unexpected detour that took me out of town yesterday...just now caught up on this thread....holy crap!

being unsure how this game is played, i did just ead the first day, but yesterday was out of touch and unable to post.

Anyhoo...the reasoning for some seems rather flimsy and after reading the entire series of debates on who to vote for any why, i have to come to the conclusion I did.

We have several people who are a bit absent from the thread at the moment, and revealing yourself as the vigilante right now doesn't make a tonne of sense. ineedanother is deflecting, he's trying to stay alive, why else would he so quickly say he's vigilante? He's desperate!

I've had no communication with Timbo, I just happen to agree with him. You're trying to stay alive, townies don't need to be so desperate.

Again, I say, if ineedanother is the vigilante, then make your kill. Rathji's post made a bunch of sense, so go after GGG.

If you aren't willing, then you need to go.

You said you are making your kill today (Day 1), please do. While we do have until Sunday in real time, earlier would be better. Once complete we can then figure out what to do before the vote deadline.

If not, why make the declaration that you are the vigilante and then not use your kill? Each Mafia faction knows who their members are so as the vigilante you are not with them so they want you dead anyway. Identifying yourself with the 1 time kill shouldn't matter to them as your power is then gone.

Once you do use your kill then you are truly identified as a Townie, and no longer have power. You would be the 1 guaranteed player who could be trusted. This does put a target on you for a Mafia night kill but once identified as a Townie THEN the doctor protecting you is valuable, it covers our best asset and could potentially block any Mafia night kill(s) helping the town go further with larger numbers.

Without the kill proof I think it is a waste of the doctor's time to try and protect you until later. I'm sure the Mafia side board would think this is a perfect strategy, you knew your head appeared to be on the chopping block so this way you stay alive for a while longer and nullify the doctor's ability to help the town thus helping the Mafia.

With nothing to go on it is hard to believe you really are the vigilante/townie.

You this as an absolute. Saying that I can only prove I am the vigilante by killing someone. Right now all of the discussion is on me. I have my suspicion in who I think is mafia, but would like to hear somebody else's insights. I don't want to waste this ability because there is 8 votes against me. I do believe it is very likely that there are a few mafia that have voted for me. My list of my five most suspicious are in no particular order, would like to hear what other people think.

So I think I'm finally starting to figure out how this game is played!

It doesn't appear as if anyone else is going to be stepping up as the vigilante, which seems to me like ineedanother really is him... Although him revealing himself when he only had 6 votes against was kinda strange. And it would be good strategy from mafia to claim to have powers when you're being targeted.

I'm still not sure what to do because I don't want to risk losing someone with such a special power this early in the game.

I would like to make this count, I am waiting for people to point me in a good direction rather than waste it, and lose 4 townies by the end of night 1. I have given a list would like to see if anybody else has the same views, or if I have missed anyone. My kill should be used to help the townies, but with all the people trying to rush me into a decision, just seems like a strategy to be used by the mafia.

I do know the only way I can directly confirm I am who I say I am is by killing someone. I don't want to rush it when there has been little said regarding other possible mafia.

ineedanother at this stage it is a complete guess who is Mafia, you backed yourself into a corner of deciding by declaring your role. I don't envy your requirement to decide right now.

I wish I had something to help but I don't have a real target in mind. In light of my above post regarding you I'm tempted to volunteer for the kill (even after my discussion earlier with Delgar about not committing suicide) as this would identify you as trustworthy and help the town. But I don't want to die, I want to help kill Mafia.

I'd say you just pick who you feel should go and let the chips fall.

Right now my most likely target is Timbo. The time frame just seems like it was enough time for the mafia to set a plan, he also had people jumping along side him shortly after. Others were trying to keep the discussion going, his first response was a complete accusation.

A couple people make a case against you due to your actions you quickly pull out the "I'm the Vig" card and now you delay and deflect on making the kill.

So I have no ideas on who is scum I only have suspicions unfortunately you are one of them. As others have said ...make a kill. If you are who you say you are, us townies are going to regret pulling you out, but that is an ugly cost of this game.

If the ball keeps rolling with your vote, then you are going to have to off someone. If Timbo turns out to be mafia, then we have new possible suspects in those who came to his defense and assistance in turning on you. It may all be much ado about nothing, but we get the consolation prize of a proven townie leading a voting block.

I think bare minimum we need until tonight to let the possible real vigilante decide if he wants to act, or at least give the rest of the townies more proof that ineedanother is the real vigilante before we decide on the final action. Only the mafia benefits from rushing the vote.
