True, but 3-0 is another level. Especially with the dominance displayed in games 1 and 2.

Dropping a series to your biggest rival after being up 3-0 is whole other level of loss compared to what the Flames did back then.

Absolutely mind boggling how the sharks can be so good during the regular season and then the playoffs start, and then it is the same old.....

I am not sure what the sharks need to do.....

My humble opinion, when people call San Jose Sharks legitimate cup contenders ;

The Flames history is mostly a history of underachieving, but nothing really as brutal as that in terms of a single series.

Flames dropped their series to the Canucks after being up 3-1 and the Canucks went on to the cup. I know I took that pretty hard as the Flames were the better team unlike this series were there's not a lot to choose between the Kings and Sharks as everyone picked this series to go 7 games before it started.

Have some balls and finally do something about Thornton and Marleau?

The better team won the series easily. LA is built for playoff hockey and San Jose is not. LA's best players outplayed San Jose's best. San Jose needs to get rid of the "leaders" on their team.

Do Thornton and Marleau have NTC's? Marleau is the guy I would move as Thornton had a bad series but it you look he's been a decent performer in the playoffs. Bottom line is the Kings have Quick and the Sharks don't.

Gotta feel for sharks fans. Must be frustrating to cheer for a team like this with such reg season success and not even a conference championship to show for it much less a cup.

Also feel pity for Marleau, Thornton, et al. Great players with a sad reputation. I don't buy into the whole "big game player" thing usually, but these guys really don't seem to be able to get 'er done. Thornton's numbers dip a bit in the playoffs, but I think Marleau's are pretty much the same.

If heads roll, hopefully we can pick a bit of the carcass for ourselves. Hope McLellan doesn't end up in vancouver since I think he's a pretty alright coach.

I dunno, I'm still pretty bitter about 1994. Hell, I'm still pretty bitter about Game 7 of 1991 against the Oilers. We had a 3-0 lead and blew it. Effin Tikkanen...

They just re-signed them both to 3 year extensions starting next year.

The Leafs collapse was definitely more entertaining for me. They went from such a high to such a low so in minutes. It was amazing.

Hard for me to speak as definitively as others on this. What if LA loses Doughty in game 5? LA's top guys were great late in the series, but also let the series get to 3 zip. A bounce or two and this series is easily San Joses.

In my mind these teams are both top 5 in the playoffs, and are better than any team in the East besides maybe Boston.

Did the Flames beat San Jose in the season series? Just seems like Calgary would have put up more of a fight than the Sharks.

LA is good, but man San Jose pulled some Brent like coaching in the playoffs. 4th line starts after an icing, Stalock in for game 6 instead of Niemi....

Todd's gonna get fired for things like this, but the Sharks need more than just a coaching change.

I just don't see anyway they can move those guys and end up being a better team. It will ease fan frustration, but i just can't see a trade that would actually improve the team.
