I know that was quoted to take a jab but I'll answer seriously. The Sharks fans are nervous (rightfully so), but they still have confidence for Wednesday as the game is @ SAP Center.

The refs blew that call there is no way that goal should have stood.
Because of that terrible decision the game a good game quickly spiraled out of control.

The ref should only be allowing that play to go on if he can see that the puck is loose and the goalie doesn't. That was far from the case here, as Stalock looks unsure but the puck is well underneath him and wouldn't have come out without Williams jamming his stick in there. Part of the job is to protect the goalies and St Laurent absolutely #### the bed on this one.

100 percent agree, but would add that there were some very quick whistles at the other end of the ice which just seems to make it worse.
However, and not to absolve the refs in any way whatsoever, where the heck was the Sharks defenceman to absolutely destroy Williams before he gets a chance to even make that play and to make the point that if you try and stick our goalie you might get hurt? Isn't this the playoffs?

Love what you do for this forum, Oil Fan.
but this truly is a movie called the "San Jose Sharks" and they are looking to top "x" amount of years playoff failures with one last big bus (lose after being up 3-0)

Oh I agree and I mentioned it as well, if they lose game 7 it will be one of, if not the biggest choke job in NHL history.

San Jose seems to have a reputation of not putting in a full effort when leading in a series and it might cost them again.
I clearly remember game 6 in Calgary in 2008 where the Sharks didn't show up and the Flames cruised to an easy 2-0 win. They were then a completely different team at home in game 7.
We will see if they can play better in this game 7 but LA has major momentum and I think they will pull off the huge comeback.

Goal scoring... SJ - 21 goals, LA - 21
First 3 games: SJ - 17, LA - 8
Last 3 games: SJ - 4, LA - 13
LA has all of the momentum, won the last three games, shut out the Sharks the last time they were away, Quick is back to "playoff-playing-Quick."
I found it funny how I wrote off this series after the Sharks won in OT in game 3, I really thought they had it in the bag. But LA has made it a series again, and Wednesday should be really exciting.

If not for a lucky bounce in game 3, this series could've been over for San Jose already.

WC Playoffs Round 1: San Jose Sharks vs Los Angeles Kings (Series tied 3-3).
I hope the Kings finish off these chokers.

last night showed why the NHL should be able to review a goal from any perspective available through the use of audio/video.
The purpose is to get the call right, no idea why it is limited to puck over line, and intentionally putting the puck in illegally using your skate/high-stick/glove, etc. No idea why goalie interference is not part of the equation, when it's just as difficult to assess in realtime as the other video reviewable offenses.
This must change next season.

Lots of different ways to look at it. Yes, it was a terrible call, but if a team crumbles that badly after one bad call they probably arent destined to go all that far anyways.
That said, if the Sharks win it in Game 7 and get their act together and go deep then its just an extra Million dollars for one more home playoff game.

Just wondering if Luigi Luongo said anything about that goal. He was guest commentator last night, alongside Jamie McLennan.

I think there was one game between LA or San Jose and Calgary where Ortio didn't have the control of the puck and the player keeps jamming the puck then it went in.

No question it has to change sometime, and will.
The question is where you draw the line. Offside? Puck over glass that was missed? Goalie interference? How far back before the event do you review on tape? Should any of these be coaches challenge, or by default reviewed for all criteria?
Bottom line, as you said, mandate must be to get the call right, and they sure aren't doing that now

you cant just push the goal tender in the net...or at all for that matter, puck loose or not. Why not just push him out of the way of a shot on every play?
at the very least its incidental contact

Coach's Challenges should go into effect soon.
(Someone correct me if I am wrong), but the one "no-call" that bothered so bad was the refs letting that one offside go with Matt Duchene who got a breakaway when he was clearly offside by a country mile.
NHL refereeing needs to get better and at least not make it look like an obvious one-sided game.

LA player was trying to shove the puck in while San Jose player was trying to pushed him out of the way. Just look at where the San Jose player stick was. Come on how many have we've seen these type of goal before?

Kerry Fraser commented on TV and twitter last night that it shouldn't have been a goal. Blown call.
