Default Converting VHS to digital/DVD?

Sorry if this is a fata -- I have some old Flames videos and would like to record them into digital format to share with the rest of CP. Some older stuff from 1986 and 1989, including Peter Maher's first "yeah baby" when we beat the Oilers in game 7

Any suggestions as to the easiest and/or cheapest way to do this? I'm not overly tech savvy so the only way I can presently do it is to record a video by pointing it at the tv

I used this once at work for someone.

A quick search shows various other products like it.

I know Walmart offers a service to do this conversion, but I don't know what it costs. For multiple game tapes, it likely would be far more affordable to do it yourself though.
