Oh man, hearing that call from 89 again. Goosebumps all over. We have had it so good for so long with Peter. Truly the greatest voice in the game.

A giant of hockey broadcasting, with the awareness to leave before his age starts to betray him, and tarnish his legacy. If only Bob Cole had possessed the same wisdom, 10 years ago.

The 2004 calls will stick with every Flames fan forever. A true class act, who I anticipate will be in the Forever a Flame program before next season ends. In fact, the home opener would be a fitting time to pay respects to a legend of the franchise.

A sad day but it was time and I wish Peter Maher all the best int he future and hope he enjoys his retirement. I'm sure for Peter "retirement" will mean enjoying more hockey games as a spectator. Peter is a legend and will always be remembered in this city and such.

I knew it was coming. It still really sucks though, he'll be greatly missed in my house.

Everyone always talks about how many good stories Peter has. A Book by Peter would be a very good read..... I sure hope that happens.

She asked if she could come inside and give me a demonstration. She went on to add that she really doesn't need to demo the product for her to get credit from her company, all she had to do was just come inside and said we could actually talk about anything. My response, "I can't, I'm going to listen to the Flames / Oilers game on the internet".

I'll never forget his "The Contempa Carpets time of the winning goal..." or "You can put it in the win column" calls.
Haha. Love it.

Most everything I want to say has already been said. When I moved to the Maritimes for university in '93 the two things I missed the most were Ed Whalen and Peter Maher. You've earned all the respect you're being shown today, Peter.

Last Flames goal call for Gaudreau, hopefully ushering in new era.
Which was the first?

Even manages to paint a picture of what it would be like to be sitting in that room right now.
