You know the world is going to crap when you hear that Avril Lavigne is "super damn hot". Gross.

Not even remotely true. Blowing a fourth round pick is a far smaller risk that blowing a first round pick.

As for Treliving, I don't know enough to have much of an opinion.

From what I heard in that press conference, not a snowballs chance in Hades.

I would be open to a deal around Baertschi for Summers or Gormley.

It has a Craig Button feel to this hiring, with one major difference. An experienced hockey man backing him up from the president seat.

not even close

someone did a breakdown of the 10 drafts between 1998 and 2007

of the 4th round picks 91% of them played less than 200 games in the league

of the 1st round picks 60% played 300+ games

there are no risky picks in the 4th round

Summers is UFA. But Gormley is an interesting idea. Not sure if he is equal value for Sven. Hard to tell right now.

Connor Murphy would be the player to target in such a trade in my opinion.

He was drafted with the pick we gave up in the Jokinen deal IIRC

I knew I was missing one other people. Got him and summers mixed up. He's the other guy I would take too. Build a D around Brodie, wotherspoon and one of the young coyotes.

I think people need to stop the whole throwing out Coyote player names thing. I doubt Treliving is going to go nuts trying to acquire former or current Coyotes.

Edit: I guess Turris wasn't under his tenure. He was hired a couple weeks after the '07 draft.

I just don't like Phoenix. Hahaha everyone seems pretty happy. Wasn't a shot at the guy. Sounds like a good fit and hey, at least it ain't feaster!

If anything we make a deal with the Coyotes where we get the short end, as a kind of under the table payment for taking their guy.
