There is still 8 billion guys there to fill in for Smith. Cundari would have been nice, but you could put in Culkin now or go to Arsene (He is the captain right?) or Davis if you want a veteran guy.

I think it will one of either Lamb, Arsene or Davies. I don't think Culkin gets a chance quite yet.
My guess would be Davies.

Or perhaps Smith will play after-all:

Since they are lame ducks anyway, I wish the Heat would just play their playoff games in the Dome. They'd get twice the audience from people who actually might give a damn.

Was bored, so I played all of the videos at the post-game interviews at the same time.. Ward wins.

I hear what you're saying, and to an extent, that would be awesome.
However that would be a massive slap in the face to all the loyal Heat fans who have been cheering for this team for five years. There may not be a lot of them, but the 500 or so truly dedicated fans are rabid fans. It wouldn't be fair to them. I say let them enjoy their last few games of watching their team.

According to a couple of longtime Heat fans, Sven was absolutely pumped walking into the arena this morning. The feel of the whole team right now is energized and excited for tonight's game.
If that's not a good sign after playing 99+ minutes of hockey last night, I don't know what is.

It seems like Sven enjoys healthy competition and strives on the sportsmanship. The stronger the Flames get, the more I see Sven stepping up his game.

All the local colour and inside stories of Sven are a humble, nice, hard working kid. The media reports somehow suggest an entitled brat. Something doesn't fit.

What I consider a young kid knowing how good he can become and wanting the best for himself, others may interpret as a kid who feels he's entitled to something.
Same situation, different translation. He's far from a brat and far from spoiled.

I'm specifically referring to the reports of pouting. Doesn't seem to fit with the local/inside colour stories

Make no mistake about it, he doesn't want to be in Abbosford (he said so himself) and wasn't happy when he got sent down. I doubt Granlund, Reinhart, Billins, Ortio, Knight, Hanowski, Street, or Jones want to be here either.
The joke is it's the American Hockey League: The Place Where No One Wants to Be.
Sven may have "pouted" in private when he first got sent down, but he's been nothing but professional, polite and easy-going in the public sphere.

I have to agree here.
His 'pouting' could equally be interpreted as a young, dedicated player who was upset that he wasn't quite cutting the mustard at the NHL level.

I'd be more concerned if he wanted to be there.
The difference between the way SOB handled his demotion and Sven handling his comes Down to experience and knowing what to say to sugar coat the disappointment.
SOB said all the right things, more ice time, chance to work with the kids, winning... Etc and did it with a smile. But we all know he was none too pleased, Sven is still learning how to handle and manipulate the media. It will come.

I dissagree with one thing. It's not just about "what" to say, which I agree Sven needed to work on and, from the last I heard from his more recent comments he has figured out and started to be better about.
But more importantly, it's about what he CHOOSES to do and focus on given he's been sent somewhere he doesn't want to be. From what I heard, this was the issue. Rather than focus on what the team wanted him to work on, and what can he do to improve the things they wanted him to work on, initially he choose to look around him and try to establish whether he thought he was being treated fairly in comparison to his peers (so rather than say what can I do better to stay, he chose to ask why does person X get to stay and I don't) and focus on whether or not he feels he was given the right tools to succeed (who was I playing with, did I get enough and the right ice time). Essentially not enough internal reflection, too much external blame.
But the above, pretty common way to react for a young man in any situation. People confuse the idea that Sven might have an attitude problem to mean one thing, that he's a dick and arrogant. From what I've heard, not the case at all, he's a nice guy who really wants to do well and cares. Just needs to learn how to focus that energy and desire properly.

Glendening, Jurco, Ouellet and Sheahan will all likely join up with Grand Rapids for #AHL Calder Cup playoffs.

I'm not too worried about the Griffins getting bodies up front. It's obvious after last night the key to beating them is beating Mrazek.
Hopefully tonight we see a big body in front of Mrazek when they are shooting at him. Blind the kid. Play the Tomas Holmstrom card right back on the organization that used it for so many years.
