The Blues are just being the Blues. They've had a lot of solid teams over the years, but just never seem to get the results in the playoffs. They're the Capitals of the west.

2012, 2nd in West (Won Central Division), lost to LA (Cup Winners) in 2nd round (4-0)
2013, 4th in West, lost to LA in 1st round (4-2)
2014, 2nd in Central, may lose to Chicago (3-2)
I think it's a little early to call them the Capitals of the West. They're built better than the Caps I think, but there are just so many good teams that look they could win it all in the West versus only Boston who has that image in the east.

Except the Blues have been doing this their entire existence. They went 25 years without missing the playoffs...and a late-stage leper can count the number of Cups they won.
Solid teams, good promise, never any real results that matter...that's the St. Louis Blues.

LOL...5 one goal games, 4 in OT.
Yep those Blues and all their losers are just being losers against the Defending Champs.
That simple.

Thsoe Blues and all their losers are on the verge of choking away a 2-0 series lead for the second year in a row.
Moral victories are meaningless most of the time in hockey, but especially in the playoffs. They need to win, not make excuses about how close they came to winning.

Just a little more to add.
The last time the Blues made it to the Finals was 1970...44 years ago. The made it to the Finals in their first 3 years (in a 12-team league). They didn't win a single game, and were swept all 3 times.
Since then, they have made it to the Conference Finals only twice, and have won 0 times.
They have 1 Presidents Trophy since 1967. They won this in 1999-2000. They lost in the 1st round that year.
Definitely not a lot to be proud of in almost 50 years of hockey. The Blues always seem to be on the verge, but never seem to do much.

Which does nothing to account for the fact that they dominated the West for much of the year, and (as has been said) have now blown a two-game lead and are trailing in the series (and Chicago hasn't exactly looked like unbeatable all-stars).

I akin them to the 90's Cleveland Cavaliers. Had some serious championship teams but there were Juggernaughts to contend with (CHI, Utah etc).
The 90's Blues (Hull, Oates, Turgeon, MacInnis, Pronger, Joseph era) were a championship calibre team that just managed to always run into super teams.

The Blues don't have the high-end offensive threat...I mentioned this in a thread after I watched them play the Canucks in Vancouver earlier this year. They were first overall in the NHL at the time but I was asking if people here actually saw them as a legit Cup threat.
I didn't and I still don't. Sobotka in the Top 6??? I just don't see it. Backed as the #1 offensive C???
Granted, other than this last game, Tarasenko is looking really good. He wasn't anywhere this good in Vancouver earlier this year. He and Schwarz could very well provide that high-end offense in the coming years.
For now, I don't consider them a threat to win. CHI, BOS, SJS...even the LAK are likely still a class above them, in my opinion.

At this rate the Chicago Unsportsmanlikes will win the series in Game 6 off of a GWG scored in the dying seconds of the 2nd Period.

1 assists in 11 playoff games for Bow. Is that correct? For all people that said some of us were too hard on the guy here, don't we think some one at his pay grade and game style has to be expected to deliver more than that when it counts?

I went back through the last three pages, albeit quickly, and couldn't find one post where anyone called the Blues a bunch of losers.
What exactly are you being such a baby about?

Did STL choke away a 2-0 lead, or did the Hawks choke away two games they had in the bag?

That year they were swept in the final, all four games were decided by a goal, 3 in overtime.
Some will just go 'whatever, swept', but those Canadiens players knew better and said as much following the series.
Coming into this series banged up, hanging with the defending champs isn't anything to be ashamed of. Success in the west since the lockout has pretty dependent on seeding luck.
St Louis hasn't had much of that recently.

The Blues also made the finals for those three years in what was effectively an expansion conference. All the new expansion teams were put into one conference and the old established teams into another. The Blues were the best of the newbies so making the finals wasn't that impressive either, one of the new teams had to.

They came back from a two goal deficit in the second game to lose in OT. Not sure if they had that in the bag. The first game they only ever had a one goal lead as well, not sure that's in the bag either.
It's a hard fought series, but momentum is definitely swinging one way right now.
