I'm curious if this was in Kerr's contract from the start. Maybe they had him sign a 1 season agreement to do PBP and they would re-evaluate at the end of the season. If he did well he would be extended, if not he would be back on the Fan. Doesn't change much, just curious.

He's on every morning because he's a nice chatty man who happens to have forgotten more about the Flames than any of us will ever know. It's a nice, familiar part of the morning, and it's refreshing in its lack of cynicism.

Let's not forget, they need to fill four hours in the morning, and six hours now in the afternoon. They can spend 40 a day and talk to Peter fricking Maher. Show some respect.

Oh yah, I sure hope they stop the Mahre segments which provide some great insight and tidbits of what's going on with the team so that Loubo can tell me more about what players he had the chance watch in juniors.

If there's one sure thing on this website, it's that every media member sucks, people here know more about managing a radio/TV station than the professionals, every media outlet has some strange anti-flames agenda (including those who have season tickets to the flames), and nothing will improve. It's literally 25% or more of every game thread

To be fair, Sportsnet has shown time and time again that they struggle to manage their TV station, and a lot of the criticism is very warranted. Agreed that it does go overboard quite often, though.

Kelly Hrudey's the best example. Season tickets to the Flames, a huge part of the Calgary community, very complimentary of the Flames when it's deserved, and miles ahead of all those media guys out east and their "The Flames don't score goals and I know this because of that one Flames game I watched on February 17th, 2003" analysis, when it comes to Flames knowledge.

When I see people go on about Kelly Hrudey and his anti-Flames bias I just laugh.

Not sure if Hrudey would be interested in heading back out on the road and travelling with a team full time. Think he's pretty happy with a weekend gig solely. Rogers is still working with CBC for HNIC next season, can't see his role changing that quickly either.

I read somewhere that CBC was still doing HNIC for the next four years. Has that been changed to one year now? I keep hearing different things.

HNIC is still going to be on CBC for the next 4 years, but all content and revenue is controlled/collected by Rogers. CBC doesn't have a say in anything.

There are definitely legitimate complains about the Sportsnet production value, but you get complaining about every announcers, color guy, or panel, no matter who the broadcaster is.

The whole "every media member is out to get us" whine-a-ton is definitely the worst quality of the average Flames fan. I'd be surprised if there was a fanbase that's as annoyingly consistent about it.

This is true, however with hundreds of posters, I think a lot of it is just everyone having their favorites and media guys they hate and voicing their opinion either way.

Then with tons of posters all doing that you're going to get negativity about every guy eventually. It's not like all of Calgarypuck complains about every guy.

It's not just a vocal negative minority though. It's literally a quarter of all posts in a game thread. It's an obsession.

Personally I think the "Hrudey hates the Flames" thing is silly. But Ferraro of the past, and Healy of the present? That's not paranoia in my opinion.

Ferraro doesn't hate the Flames, and in any game for any team has been as impartial as you could ask.

Healey is just not good at his job. He's a loudmouth that is rarely correct in any of his analysis, and he just bothers me in a way no other personality does.

I actually really like Ferraro. He calls it honestly.

He didn't seem to like the Flames until this year... Maybe because we didn't work hard or play smart overall?
