Thank God it's over with. Hopefully we can move past it now and just enjoy some hockey. Hopefully a McLeod or Bordeleau doesn't decide to avenge Barrie.
Seems right from a process standpoint. 7 playoff games is generally accepted to be the same as a 14 game suspension. A knee on knee getting a 14 game suspension is big regardless of history.
I get the emotional argument for more, but in the absence of emotion it makes sense
But on with the "rable, rable, suspend him for life!"

"First and foremost, I want to say that I'm disappointed and sorry that Tyson Barrie can't play for the Colorado Avalanche tonight,'' said Cooke, who addressed the media after the morning skate but did not take questions. "I wish that he could. It was not my intent to collide with him knee on knee. It was my intent to finish my check.
Anyone think MacKinnon will drop off a bit next year as teams clog up the neutral zone? He seems to generate a lot with speed.
I can see perhaps a stealthy Monahan catching up to him a little. I'm sure we all agree who the better player is, but I believe it's not as close as many believe. MacKinnon has some good linemates and can show off his playmaking abilities, he is going to be very nice..in an all around sense offensively. Both will get bigger and stronger.
Monahan can turn into a beast and we've only scratched the surface. There is just something about his quietness on the ice and stealthiness that has me very interested. I don't think he will be far off MacKinnon when the dust settles a bit.
