58th/59th avenue is right where the floating overpass is. That's why I find it bizarre they would say remote.

Seriously? I run by their all the time, that doesn't even make sense for a random stabbing to happen there... how?

Based on the wooden fence in the picture in the Herald I'm pretty sure it's there, or at least somewhere in that stretch on 90th. I don't recall that kind of fence anywhere else in the area or even in North Glenmore, especially with a street and mesh fence also in the picture.

They said a very large area was blocked, so wouldn't surprise me if those photos were just randomly taken of the park itself and not indicative of where the stabbing happened.

The only indication of where the stabbing occurred I read was near the marina.

A newer article says they basically blocked off the area where the park runs along 90th, which is about what I figured they meant for a large area.

I was confused at first too, I thought they were talking about a different part of town. But when I say marina, I mean close to the water, like the path that literally runs adjacent to the water near where the boat launch is. I can't remember where I saw it on TV from but I think it was CTV where that specific part was mentioned.

Obviously they wouldn't have photos of that area because the park is kinda closed off at 90..

Large urban areas are defined as Census Metropolitan Areas (CMAs). A CMA represents one or more adjacent municipalities centered on an urban core of at least 100,000 persons. Based on police boundaries, large urban areas accounted for 65.5% of the Canadian population in 2005.
Small urban areas are defined as any urban area not part of a CMA that has a minimum population of 1,000 persons and a population density of at least 400 persons per square kilometer. Small urban areas accounted for 17.4% of the population in 2005.
Rural areas are defined as all areas of the country not falling into either the large urban or small urban categories. In 2005, rural areas accounted for 17.1% of the population.

Hmmm, CBC calling it not suspicious. Self inflicted stab wound sounds bizarre, but I can't think of anything else.

Now they're saying the death is not suspicious:

Investigators say it appears the man suffered stab wounds to his upper body.
Police called the Homicide Unit but have since declared the death 'not suspicious'.

That actually doesn't surprise me. When I lived in Vancouver, I felt a lot safer walking around downtown at night than when I lived in Prince George.

“It’s an undetermined death, as I mentioned,” Duty Inspector Joel Matthews said on Tuesday. “There are things in the investigation that evolve very quickly so we’re leaving it at that.”

Matthews says the man’s death was not the result of a heart attack or any other natural cause. He says the man did suffer a serious injury but isn’t specific on what type.

“It’s not often that we find someone unconscious on the path when they’ve suffered an injury and that’s why we’ve called it an undetermined death at this point.”

A serious injury that's not suspicious but the investigation is evolving quickly... me thinks there's a lot more to the story.

Maybe the guy was carrying a knife or some other such object, fell somehow, landed on said object, and ended up self-stabbing?

Weird how this story evolved, but I guess the media has stabbing on their minds. Easy to jump to that.
