I really wasn't looking to ruin anyone's day by posting that link into the TV show thread. It was just a very thorough breakdown of the scenes and thought people would find it useful since they were speculating on what/how it all happened.
Anyhow, wasn't it pretty obvious that the Queen of Thorns planned it all? I mean Sansa did confess to her and Margaery about how much of a monster Joffrey really was.

If you hadn't read the books would you have caught that?
I knew it was coming and I had to go back to notice when Olenna pawned it.
Reading the thread there was obviously speculation of a number of different people.
While it may have been obvious to you, and while I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt that you didn't intend to spoil it, the fact is you did. This has been an on-and-off issue since the before the first episode even aired, so there is 3+ years of angst. It doesn't matter to me, I'm caught up, but I do sympathise with wanting to watch a show as it happens without spoilers.
Anyone who has read the books really should think twice about posting in that thread. Let them ponder. If they really want help, point them to the other thread and maybe we can let everyone enjoy it in their own way.

I think even Martin realized that it was too convoluted to simply remain implied, which was why he had Littlefinger wax on about it in the books.
Also I messed up today too - one of the posters in that thread made a joke about Robb turning into a zombie and I told him he should take it down because it hit too close to home. He asked why, does Robb become a zombie, and I put the answer in spoiler tags... but I screwed up the tags. Hopefully they reveal Stoneheart sooner rather than later, I feel bad about that one, although he wasn't upset or anything.

I still don't understand why they need Sansa to smuggle the poison into the wedding. It seems like an elaborate extra step when Lady Olenna had long sleeves and could have easily kept it in a hidden pocket.
I can't remember if it was explained better in the book.

My interpretation was essentially as follows.
1. Littlefinger wants Joffrey dead, but he also wants Sansa out of KL and with him. He's a bit of a creeper when it comes to Cat and Cat isn't, well, breathing.
2. Olenna would prefer not to be walking around carrying poison for the sake of appearance of innocence.
3. If Sansa does get caught, she would be completely unable to implicate either of them.
4. Olenna may not have had immediate access to poison and attempting to acquire poison provides an opportunity for whoever you engaged to procure it to talk to the wrong people. So Littlefinger acquired some (or more likely already had it).

I suppose. Littlefinger seems like he would have poison available when needed so that adds up. He only trusts Dontos enough to give him a necklace to give to Sansa. He might have told someone if he was asked to deliver a vial of poison and it would look suspicious to send the jewelry to Lady Olenna.
It still feels overly complicated, but those are the sort of games that Littlefinger likes to play I suppose.

Littlefinger is playing to win, really. He likes to have his fingers in every pie, and would rather no one know that.
I also find it amusing how it seems that almost any theory brought up in the TV thread brings catcalls of "zomgspoilersz from bookreaderz!". As if anyone watching the tv show is incapable of theorizing.

Yep, pretty sure people would've noticed the jewel missing from the necklace without the books existing. All signs point to Olenna, so it would have been figured out in a day or two. The internet is full of clever people. The motive would still be up for debate though.
Question about Bran's vision: It shows the Iron Throne abandoned in the snow. I think we've seen this before, but I dunno. Is it more likely the snow is actually ash from when the dragons finally make it over?
Can someone refresh my memory with how Bran's visions work? Is he seeing the future or the past or present or do we even know? My memory is fuzzy. His part of the story is probably the most important, but kinda confusing... and in the show, boring.

Both are possible but I would suggest that the endgame sees winter and white walkers at King's Landing.
As for Bran's vision, http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Greenseer

It's fun watching everyone argue the politics of Westeros and the motivations of Tywin and Littlefinger.

Brilliant move by the writers to put in the Tywin/Tommen scene to throw suspicion on Tywin for the murder.
The rape scene that followed - not so brilliant.

I was tempted to point out in the other thread that this wasn't the way it happened in the book, but you know how well that would go.
I disliked the scene not just because rape is horrible, but because Cercei doesn't deserve any kind of sympathy she might get for being victimized.

I just dont understand the point of changing it from the book
they had built Jaime up as a sympathetic character all last season and now what?
and now when Cersei goes bonkers people might point back to this

Man, watching the knives come out in the other thread. It's almost like watching the show itself...

If you were so concerned about spoilers why wouldn't you just read the books?
That's not absolving the jerks that spoil things but really the power to avoid spoilers is mostly in your own hands. You can either a) read the books, or b) not read or discuss Game of Thrones on the internet. Otherwise you're opening yourself up to the risk that you'll encounter a jerk, which on the internet, is a virtual certainty.

People who prefer the show should be able to watch it without having key plot points spoiled for them. Especially in a thread where they have repeatedly asked for the plot points not to be spoiled. They're not going all over the internet, they posting in a specific thread that is supposed to be spoiler free. Is that too much to ask?
There are tons of movies and based on books or comic books that have come out years before that I haven't read and I certainly wouldn't appreciate having them spolied for me either.

Evidently it is too much to ask which gets back to my original point. Read to books or avoid GoT discussion on the internet if you are going to be sacrosanct about spoilers.

I really dislike her acting. The character could be good but she's just a terrible actor.
