As much as I enjoy watching the skill of the Hawks, they do have a strong dbag streak to them. Trash talk is one thing, but they seem to rejoice in actual injuries (add trash talking BMo to the list) and crossing the line (when they made Iggy go ape some years ago).

The ######bag-ery factor of the Hawks would be off the charts if they still had some of the old suspects like Burish, Bolland and Eager.
St. Louis is a bit greasy too, but man am I sick of the Blackhawks.

The unsportsmanlike behavior of the players in not just this series but in several of them are turning me off to the game. I really don't enjoy watching people get knocked out or speared. Seems like for every Datsyuk dangle we have some dbag taking it too far.

The Stanley Cup playoffs is the meanest and most brutal tournament of sport in the entire world. It is an absolute spectacle of supreme skill mixed with extreme attrition. It's always been that way and is pretty much the identity of the league.
This series has been amazing, and I HAAAAAATE both of these teams and their players. Tonight, I will be watching what I'm sure will be a thrilling game... I guess you'll be watching basketball?

I know my opinion is of the minority however the commentator hit the nail on the head with his comment regarding the knee at full speed.
He had him lined up perfect and then the Blue cuts at the last second...natural instinct is to try and catch a piece of him and it was a unfortunate situation. The penalty was deserved but nothing more. The suspendable kneeing plays IMO are when the guy has his leg out and ready to catch a guy.
As for the Backes hit... I feel 1 game would be enough. It was a ill-timed hit as it would have been borderline clean (compared to more lenient calls throughout the playoffs) had Backes not been injured & had he picked up the puck like he was trying to do. As he did get hurt and wasnt able to pick up a puck he would 99% of the time, a suspension is warranted.

I don't know man... In the replay, it looks like Seabrook had every intention of hitting Backes' head and hurting him.

People are seriously calling the stuff said to Backes as...classless?
I have been at ice level for many a game and that yapping was NOTHING compared to what is said...particularly in a heated game/series such as this one.
I have a feeling many would be totally shocked by what is said if they think this was anything "extraordinary".

Were they knocked out by any chance? wow, just wow can't believe anyone is defending that horse crap. Talking trash is fine but not when the other guy is semi conscious.

Because the NHL lets networks with one channel pick series in similar time zones with games on the same days.

Such a joke, especially in this case where it's probably the best match-up of the 1st round that's being pre-empted. So glad CBC's sports days are almost at an end.

Yup, it's clearly the most intense series and has just been ramping up.
BUT CROSBY.
