Hopefully not. Nylander is going to be a great player. I'd rank him right there with Draisaitl and Dal Colle.

no thinks - very much hope that's who the Nucks take. He would look great beside Shinkaruk

Two years later, after his father's NHL career ended, Nylander played for the Chicago Mission in an Under-16 competition. In Chicago, he teamed up with another 2014 NHL Draft prospect, Nick Schmaltz, and scored 61 points in 29 games.

That's great, but the story hasn't been finished...
"By 2010, at 16 years of age, Johnny Gaudreau posted better stats than the 18 year old NHL drafted William Nylander..."

This is, of course, just my opinion but i have serious doubts about both Draisaitl and Reinhart. I wouldn't be fuming mad if we took either one with our pick, but i can see both of them developing into simply just one-dimensional, secondary players- and i don't get that feeling about Dal Colle or Bennett. I even feel that Ritchie could be an impactful pick, somewhere along the lines of a Lucic-type player.
If i had my way, we would take Bennett. He can do it all- put up serious offense, play a robust physical game, and he's one of the best two-way players in the draft. He won't make it out of the top 3 though.

Reinhart is one of the better two-way players in this draft. There is no other forward available with his combination of skill and defensive prowess.
Of the top 5 forwards projected, Reinhart has the best defensive game.
Bennett is good, but he's aided moreso by his motor than anything else.

I respectfully disagree. If Reinhart had the best defensive game in the draft, then there would be no debate as to which forward would go first out of the top 5- with Reinhart's numbers, there would be no argument.
I have never read any literature to support your argument, nor have i seen this amazing defensive game on full display when i've seen him play.

I'm not saying he's Patrice Bergeron, but he's simply not the one-dimensional player your post makes him out to be.
I'd put his junior defensive game above Monahan for example.
He's more than adequate in his own zone.

He's probably the best two-way player in the whole draft. Simply having massive offensive/defensive upside does not put you head and shoulders above the rest in the manner that you're suggesting.
There are other factors in play here. He doesn't have Draisaitl's size, nor Bennett's fierce compete level or speed.

Reinhart is catalyst for positive plays in all three zones; far from a one-dimensional player.
(The word "catalyst" just reminded me of Marc Savard - wondering how he's doing these days - nothing to do with Reinhart...just curious)

I don't doubt that he's "adequate" in his own zone as a junior player, but i certainly wouldn't compare his defensive game to Monahan's.
Bennett has built his draft status partially on the accolades he gets for his two-way play, and it's just my opinion that he would be the best fit for our team.(other than Ekblad)

It sounds like you haven't watched Reinhart.
Quote:
"He has a complete game at both ends of the ice," Central Scouting's Peter Sullivan told NHL.com. "He does everything well. He won't get you overly excited, but from a coaching perspective, he's the guy you always want on the ice in critical situations. He's your go-to guy and team leader and is just going to be consistent at the junior level, and eventually the pro level."

I disagree I see Monahan as more of a goal scorer type centre. Where I see Reinhart as more of a playmaker. A stronger Ryan nugent-Hopkins.

I think Monahan is just scoring because he's playing with Joe "no finish" Colborne.

That's the way I see it as well and why I would love to have Reinhart on the Flames. Have two different type of players in the top 2 center spots. You would want Reinhart with a good goal scorer on his wing. He would have been great with Cammalleri. Monahan needs a top-notch playmaker on his line. Hudler and Gaudreau fits well with him.

He has defensive acumen. He doesn't have any sandpaper to his game. And only average size and speed.
He'll probably be a quality NHLer. But I don't see him becoming the #1 centre some are making him out to be. And I don't see him as a leader either. I see him like his dad was - skilled, smart; wilts when things get rough.
Folks are underrating Dal Colle just because he's a winger. Great speed, size, hands, shot. I think he projects better as an NHLer.

Agreed. I feel the same way, that Dal Colle will project to be a good NHL LWer.

Why would you think this?
Krejci only has average size and speed (actually smaller than Reinhart). He relies on his smarts. Does he wilt in the playoffs? 73 points in 84 games says otherwise.
And since when are we basing our draft decision on what the fathers of these kids did? Who cares?
Sam Reinhart is the top forward in this draft. He's a natural centre, Dal Colle has played LW for the last 2 seasons. Reinhart is also far and away the better defensive player.
