Not sure about their donairs (haven't tried) but their chicken shawarma, and chicken saaj bites and shaish towouk is the best in the city no question.

i realize this may have become some sort of joke about one ups manship, but, i went to saaj today on the recommendation of puckluck and it was quite tasty. not as good for a donair as what i got at eat-a-pita, but maybe the chicken is better.

WRGMG are the people who use my black bin (and sometimes blue bin) as their dog crap baggies disposal. Having to empty out 20+ little bags of dog poop from the bottom of the bin before putting my garbage in is getting highly annoying.
It's worse when I forget and the next week I look inside and it's a mixture of 20 new bags and 20 squished/leaking bags from the week prior.
Time to drill a hole and put a lock on it.

Does the city not dump the entire contents of your black bin into the truck? Why do you have to handle the bags that are in there?

With the warmer temperatures the poop inside the bags almost seems to melt, then the contents will find a their way out of the bag and can stick to the inside of the bin like molasses. It's worse when there's a constant freeze and thaw, as the bin is always way hotter that the outside air temperature. It's disgusting to clean out.

As I've made the mistake of putting my dogs poop bags into my black bin, this only happened when the dog decides to poop when we're almost done our walks and are close to home.

Having tossed a few doggy bags into random black bins, I always double bag the poop. Plus I only did it on garbage days, as everyone's bin is typically 3/4 full, so it just sits on top.

The easy solution to this is to keep your bins in your yard, and only put them in the alley on pick-up day, which has the added benefit of keeping hobos from riffling through looking for bottles.

WRGMG is people who leave their carts wherever they are dropped after pickup. It's like an obstacle course in our alley half the time. Either pull them into your yard, or right up against the back fence or garage.

Whoops, guess I better double bag when I do that. Which is pretty much everyday for over a decade. My neighbours must love me.

WGMG is when folks get bent out of shape about people going through recycling/garbage for bottles. You are throwing it away, it's out in the alley (or in front of the house) and you still think it's "yours" enough that when someone goes through, you get bent out of shape enough to call the cops. Just don't understand that.

They can never say "yeah that was good, thanks". they just have to always know what is better. Case in point I recommended a friend recently about a Donair/shawarma place and when he comes back he says he likes this other place better and it wasn't that good. A week later he goes there again and posts his sandwich on instagram and the name of the place and says "best place in town!".
 Screw you.

The word for such a person is Penelope:
http://snltranscripts.jt.org/10/10gpenelope.phtml Mary: Oh, good. Well, um -- as I was saying, Thanksgiving is a special time for me. Interesting fact: Thanks to Ancestry.com, I just found out that I had relatives come over on the Mayflower!

Penelope: My relatives came over on the April Flower, soooo... I guess they got here one month before yours did.

I think it is more about the noise and mess from people going through your garbage than the actual ownership of the garbage.

We used to have guys going through our bin when I lived in an apartment and the noise was annoying as they came early and one would climb in the bin and toss empties to the other guy. We started leaving our empties beside the bin and most of the neighbors followed suit and as near as I can tell, everyone won.

No offense taken, and I probably should have make my position a little clearer. As Swarly said, it's the fact that many times, the bottle pickers leave a mess beside the bin that I take issue with. I do throw all my bottles and cans into the blue bin, and sometimes see someone picking them out, which is fine, if they don't make a mess.

Someone calling the cops about that?!? Has that actually happened?

I know our property manager makes a habit of speaking directly to the pickers and just saying "You're welcome to pick anything out, as long as you aren't leaving a mess there isn't a problem. As long as it doesn't become a problem you're more than welcome to collect bottles/cans."
I've lived at a few apartment/condo complexes in Calgary and it's not uncommon to see the same folks coming through at the same time a day. I figure anyone who's keeping a regular schedule and is working towards something at 7:30am is fine by me.
