so? in what way would that change anything? team was nowhere near the cap so it would have zero effect on the team
the fact that he considered cap space an asset shows me he didnt have a clue. who on earth thought the Flames would need cap space this season?

@dino7c
His plan was to use cap space in deals, where we would take on bad contracts in order to get what we need.
Nyquist and 2nd would have been a joke not an offer anyway.
Not sure which part is hard to understand.

I just wish some nitwits in here would give Feaster a little credit for this, he stocked the flames cupboards more in 2+ years than Sutter did in 10.

great plan, I understand completely it was a stupid move since the reality is nobody is going to give away assets to dump a contract...well except for maybe Feaster himself.

He underestimated willingness of some teams to suffer through buyouts.

You are too busy trying to win an argument.
The assumption was logical, the flaw was that the teams in cap hell didn't care about money.

Is Feaster's draft record really better than Sutter's? Honest question.
Is a lot of the lustre on Feaster's picks their relative chronology? I.E. Are detractions like Chucko perhaps weighed unfairly because they are now definitive busts?
Are we comparing the relative success of the picks in terms of the amount of successful picks or their success relative to where they were picked in the draft?

Kids are having good seasons and are projecting well.
There are reasons to be optimistic, while before there was no hope.
It is logical to think that some of the picks will be NHLers based on their development to date.
Question is how many and level of impact.

yeah agreed, trust me I hope they all turn out to be stars but really its way too early to rate Feasters drafting one way or another.
I mean Monahan is great but that was a no brainier and he almost blew that pick even

You also have to consider the fact that were rebuilding and have a lot of roster spots open. If this team was competitive most of these guys likely wouldn't have been given icetime this year. The only real test is who's around and consistently contributing when were competitive.

He's a decent GM, it's based on who is the meddling pres and owner. LA goes out in 4, you might see Daryl back as both GM/Coach. You'll still see a winning franchise.

I agree in part. Unfortunately teams in cap hell weren't just an obvious salary dump (Smid) and subsequent FA singing (Bryz) from getting over the hump

Days of coach/gm are over.
So, Dion trade was result of meddling ownership?
Sutter is an unpleasant human being if given too much power.
King of nepotism. Bad GM, because he is a bad leader, who uses fear.
He is a smart coach for short sprint but long term just a despot.

Honestly don't believe he wanted to hire Brent at all, didn't want to fire Keenan (Keenan said so).
There's no way to blame each and every trade on owner/pres, but I do believe the "pressure" was there to push any button needed to advance to another final.

Wait... What? I don't even know what the hell your signature is supposed to mean. You told him (us?) what exactly?
At least your last signature—while utterly preposterous—was quite clear. This one is equally as stupid, but with the added element that no one knows what it is you're getting at.
