Why? Seriously, we all know that it was awful, do we really need to know the Law and Order details of how some kids were murdered? I get that there is a morbid curiosity associated with it, but I really don't think that the media should be interviewing people who are obviously going to be traumatized by having their friends murdered in close proximity to them.

Easy there...I can understand people wanting to know what happened. The media is for sure trying to find out, since they are in the business of selling information.

So the memorial was quite big. Well over a hundred people. Lawrence's family are just amazing, and nice, and tons of money was raised for the funeral to help them out. There wasn't too much media, I was a little surprised by their literal "we'd be across the street" as in "there's a sidewalk here, so we'll be on the other side of that 3 meter sidewalk". Congratulations on filming a bunch of people without permission I guess. But it was really moving, touching, and everyone really loved him. He'll be missed.

Well no because they are playing the "mentally ill" card in hopes of a typical Canadian slap on the wrist verdict. I'm sure his recollection of the events leading to and during will be conveniently fuzzy. Chances are we won't know the real motivation unless he confesses later in life.

Correct me if I am wrong but just because he is fit to stand trial doesn't mean the legally insane card is thrown out the window?

I believe that is correct as it just means he's mentally fit to stand trial. They can still claim he was out of his mind at the time of the crime and you can thank me for coming out.

Pretty sure you're wrong, as those are two completely desperate things. Just because he's "sane" to stand trial does not mean they can't claim he was insane the night of the incident. Or at least that's what I think, could be wrong though.

Or maybe he's just a bad person? Was Hitler mentally ill or just a spiteful man?

Yeah sorry, read it wrong, you're right.
Either way hopefully he never sees gets out, whether he is locked up in a prison or in a mental institution for the rest of his life.

Maybe he is just a bad person, but a lawyer has to bring up the possibility and it's not like it's an unreasonable train of thought with an act like this.
But go go Godwin I guess.

Agreed. He is likely mentally ill but I still don't think he should ever get out. Probably not legally responsible but should be kept away from society until he dies.

I agree but it takes a level of commitment to methodically kill 5 people in succession and I wouldn't say they were random as he knew them all.

Random as in no apparent trigger. I'm not saying this dude should be let go, but there is a legitimate reason to question someone's mental makeup in a situation like this.
