i don't get this forum. As i said earlier it's like this forum has a strange sense of morality that when certain players get injured that it's alright to have those hits against. it's not just one person, I see it all over this situation that because it's backes that it was a clean hit, no suspension needed, etc
nhl has the 'wheel of justice' based off injury
cp has the wall of people that it's ok to have dirty hits against

You're just an excellent person, moon. Seriously, who the hell in their right mind would be happy to hear comments like that, let alone say "Awesome, if true"?
I know you think you know how to walk the line perfectly on CP, but you're getting pretty damn close to going over it. Show some class or take a hike. God, I'm getting tired of your crap.

They had 2-0 games lead on the Kings and lost that series. No lead is safe for the Blues.

It's been said before, but CP isn't a person. It's a very wide ranging collection of view points. As long as there are two points of view, no matter how wrong there will be someone with a post supporting it. Why bash CP?

These are the most competitive hiockey players in the world playing in the most competitive league. Emotions are bound to get the best of them in their actions and words. I wouldn't judge what these players do unless you've been in their shoes. I have no doubt that Backes wouldn't have thrown the same hit if he had the opportunity and that a guy like Lapierre wouldn't have said something "classless" afterwards.
It's playoff hockey, it's a war. Everyone is just sensitive to concussions and injuries now. No one ever said it was easy to win the Stanley Cup.
Go back and watch the battle of Alberta from the 80's and you'll see lots of nut cracking, head smashing, face punching, elbow throwing, etc.

Some good points, but I argue your point about Backes doing that. While he plays very physical, and simply over powers most other players, he (and the Blues in general) doesn't play a dirty game.

Like when Backes took out Stajan with the knee on knee hit?

After looking at the hit a bunch more with the benefit of slo-mo and different angles, I have to amend my original assessment to say that Seabrook could have avoided the contact. It was a hit he didn't have to make. Once he chose to make the hit, it is hard to control the outcome.
Again, I think this is the reason the equipment needs to be changed if there is any hope of reducing head injuries in the game.
Why? Because it's Backes? Two d.bags don't make it right. Really hope I never see a Flames player act like that, or like Toews trash talking a player when he's injured.
I don't like Backes any more than the next guy, but that's pretty brutal. No respect for the players. Can't wait for the Hawks to be bounced.
I don't think toews trashed talked in all honesty I bet backes was trying to get some words out to toews yes Keith is a dirt bag but I don't like backes always fights little guys had like an olympic meltdown after losing and tried to fight the team canada roster post 2010 Olympics but he is a tough SOB I do respect him tryna get up not milk a penalty like those Vancouver sisters
Dude when it comes to the Canucks, it could be a team of Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot, Augusto Pinochet, Josef Stalin and Kim Jong Il and if one of them scores against the Canucks you take it.
