Burke will hire a guy without experience a puppet anyway.

If anything else, Feaster was the best GM in western Canada!
I would give him C or C+ grade.

I want the team to finish first and win the Cup.

He could have at least up'd the value of Iginla when the Bruins and Penguins were battling it out. We traded Iggy away for nothing...
Pittsburgh had Pouliot, Harrington, Dumoulin and Maatta in their prospect pool at the time, ..... and we got Ben frickin Hanowski.
Edit: Iggy is probably also going to be a 30 goal scorer till he is 40...so, we just traded a 30 goal scorer for nothing

Reason: Iggy 30 goals..

Well the road has to start somewhere, so we are off to the races.
Year one was in the right direction.
Btw. Poirier just got his 1st pro goal in his 1st game.

Ago could still be a player. Klimchuk is looking good in the Ahl, had an assist tonight.

Feaster should have made Iginla submit a list of teams like any other GM would have done...then at the last minute he would have been able to negotiate the biggest deal in franchise history instead of having the player do it.
"Jarome thought both offers were about the same so he chose Pitts"
Why did Jerome even know what teams were offering?

One would think he should as others have done it.
However, I believe someone on the TSN panel said that those lists are not binding due to CBA rules. I don' know if that is true.
Anyway, with Iginla and Edwards friendship the situation was kind of weird.
Edit. ... Or actually may have been that you cannot force a player to sign one.

Feaster is the GM. Its his job to convince the owners that they need to rebuild for the best of the franchise. He didn't/couldn't do it... so the blame lies on him for hanging out too long.

How was he going to do that? Iggy had a full NTC/NMC. He didn't have to accept any deal to any team if he didn't want to.

The best you can hope for is to put down your arguments and supporting facts.
After the boss tells you 'NO' a couple of times, it is best to shut up or you will be looking for another job. You just try to win the battles you can but there is a limit. Murray is smarter than Feaster you cannot win against him.

he could have got something in writing what leverage did Iggy have? he was getting a chance at a cup he only has a few of those left. You really think Burke would have let a player decide a deal like that?
he would have played hard ball if it came to that...its not like the deal was even made at the deadline. Feaster could have said that deal doesn't work for us if you want to go its Boston (much better prospects) obviously Iggy wasn't that dead set against Boston considering he signed there in the summer

Feaster: Hey Iggy, I want you to sign this agreement that I can trade you to any one of 6 teams that you list.
Iginla: No.
Feaster: Please.

Iginla could walk at the end of season for nothing.

the single team thing aside (which was brutal, but I honestly put more on Iginla) the players targeted in that trade were just sub par. If those are the players on offer when you require two, get one and get a legit prospect.
And then he repeated it with the Bouwmeester trade. A 35 year old slumping winger is one thing, a legit top pairing D with a year left on his deal?
Come on.
So glad he's gone. Eventually one of those disastrous near misses would have been a direct hit.

That would have been a pretty obvious bluff. From everything we know Iginla didn't ask to be traded, he was asked if he would accept a trade. He had complete control of where he would go to and I doubt management would let Feaster get aggressive and try to screw him around.

Burke would have kept Iginla to drive up the value of other players in future trades.

lol comparing Cammy at the deadline to Iggy? such a poor argument
Feaster tried to trade Cammy all summer he is on record saying "no takers"

The market also wasn't flooded with Iginla comparables like it was this year for Cammy either

that would have been a last resort, a competent gm would have had him agree to a list of more than one team. Again he obviously didn't hate the idea of playing in Boston too badly
