Just something we're going to have to get used to from now on.

Sony has been pretty good at deals/discounts on the PSN though - so yeah, wait a bit and you'll likely be able to get it around $40 or so.
Yes, I understand. But the same website, on the same day increased the prices on an ad-banner which is broken. Just seems like the PSN is having fun with us all today.

What are the chances Last of Us comes to the PC? Any better odds than zero?

Commentary during cinematics is a cool idea.

Yep, completely zero chance. Sony published game from a Sony owned studio.

To be fair, my image was from some gaming forums and when I clicked the link I was not logged into my (Canadian) account. The banner/image likely was defaulted as the US store and their respective price - probably wasn't an "increase" during the course of the day at all.

Yeah, I really enjoyed their making of "Grounded" documentary. But I'm sure I'm biased having met many of those guys and found them to be very down to earth nice people.

It was always 69.99 on the Canadian site.

Not me. It was released shortly after I finished school so I had to hold off buying any games until I found a job. When I finally did in December it was still $60 which I thought was bull#### so I decided to wait until a price cut.

It's a no-brainer for you then as it's one of the best games of last gen. It's pretty heavily story driven so I don't know if it's one I could go back and play again.

More discounts for the Xbone in the US. I wonder if these price cuts will become "official" at E3 (and reach into Canada).

https://games.yahoo.com/news/big-sal...151012210.html

A number of industry watchers have suggested that the Xbox One’s price, which at $499 is $100 more than the PS4, was one of the main reasons for the console’s comparatively weak

As noted by DualShockers, a limited-time sale at Target makes the Xbox One an absolute steal. The nationwide retailer is offering Microsoft’s Xbox One Titanfall bundle and 13 months of Xbox Live service for just $449.99.
On its own, hot new mech-style shooter Titanfall retails for $59.99.

A year of Xbox Live also has a retail value of $59.99, which adds up to $120 lopped off the cost of the new Xbox One console. Add on Target’s $50 discount and you’re looking at an effective final price of $330.

Sony sells off its Square-Enix stocks in an attempt to get back into the black.

Quote:
Its latest liquidation is the company's 8.25 percent stake in Square-Enix, the outfit behind JRPG hits like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. The ¥4.8 billion ($46.9 million) Sony expects to pocket from the sale is only a dent in the $1.1 billion it estimates it lost last year, which leaves the sale of Sony's other headquarters and its VAIO PC business to help make up the difference.

I'm really fighting with that price. I could justify paying $60.00 for a brand new AAA title in the past. Really have a mental block against accepting $70.00 as the new price. I honestly think it will cause me to spend less on games overall.

Maybe I should spend a few 1000$ on a new gaming PC so that I can get some cost savings with Steam...

Seems that Spiderman 2 has been cancelled on Xbox One. Pre-order refunds happening all over but no word on why as of yet.

Speaking of "nerdrage" in the other thread, looks like the PS4 still outsold the Xbone in North America for the month of March. Even with the system price drops and all the hype of Titanfall dropping () in March.

I'd imagine Microsoft is going to be making more price drops soon - probably at E3? Will they actually remove Kinect as well?

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/article...n-in-march-npd

NPD noted that Sony's PlayStation 4 led hardware sales (for the third month in a row) despite the Xbox One exclusive Titanfall topping the games chart. Globally, Sony announced recently that PS4 had surpassed 7 million units sold.

Note the numbers for Titanfall roll up PC and Xbone (not sure if numbers are available to compare directly for console versions version Second Son as others discussed earlier in the thread).

Reportedly PS4 outsold the XBox One by 60k.

That is pretty substantial when you take into account that Titanfall launched and XBox had a price cut during the month.

Some more details floating on forums about Xbone sales and the NPD numbers being for 5 weeks in March versus the 4 weeks previous month. February: 258k/28 = 9.1k per day and March: 311k/35 = 8.9k per day.

Anyhow, I assume Microsoft is going to continue to keep sales numbers fairly quiet in the near term. Or spin it using "sold-in/shipped to retailer" numbers (ala Blackberry).

It'll be really interesting to watch the E3 press conferences. Going to be some big announcements!

I'm still not so certain. I could see a further price drop on the console but the Kinect is too integral to the core vision of the system to get yanked a year in. Regardless of its present efficacy (I use it way more than I thought I would to navigate, etc.), I think its role will increase and believe Microsoft still wants developers to know that there's a Kinect shipped with every XB1.
