You may be right but there will be pressure on McTavish to do something different. Picking another forward of the same ilk as eberle, RNH, Perron, yakupov, gagne, and hall is not really any different than previous years at the draft. That pressure could be enough to make him target the big German so that for once the oilers will have size in their top six group.

After that quote from Draisatl, I'm pretty sure the Oilers might want to draft him now. Could be the only guy that wants to be an Oiler. #toedrag

Yeah dibs out on Draisaitl. He seems to be an Oiler fan. DO NOT WANT.

If neither of the Sam's are there at #4 then I hope we take Dal Colle.

6"2 Canadian Kid that has the potential to be a great power forward. If we don't get either Sam, this would be a great "left over" prize.

And one poster (can't remember sorry..) said he knows his Dad and he would be thrilled to be chosen by Calgary. Need players who WANT to be here too. It's a win-win for us at #4.

Not of a fan of Draisaitl either. He looks too slow for the NHL.. only positives are his size, vision and passing ability, other than that he doesn't have the intangibles that are vital for a high draft pick.

My preference in order is Reinhart --> Bennett --> Dal Colle.

If we don't get one of the Center Sam's, getting a first line LW will certainly help.

Having a first line of Dal Colle - Monahan - Poirier could be deadly.

(Gaudreau/Baertschi would be better off being on lower lines to face lesser D-men)

Only 365-days until the next draft lottery. Edmonton's just gotta rethink their strategy here, come back better in 2015.
Tweeted after the Draft lottery results.

Posted in the "Edmonton is no good" thread but deserves to be shared everywhere haha.

I don't think we should be mocking Draisaitl when there's a decent chance we draft him...

Really want Ekblad, Reinhart, or Bennet in that order. Hope one falls to us.

Is it just me, or does it seem that Draisaitl already knows he is Edmonton bound.

This is the Oilers we are talking about here. Besides I don't think they will pick a skilled Centre. They might select a winger since Ekblad, a defenseman might not be available.

One thing I am hoping for is for Vancouver to select Nick Ritchie @ 6.

Could the Flames make a deal with Buffalo to move up and get one of the two Sams? Something that leverage's Buffalo's depth on the blueline and our depth at forward, something Buffalo needs in numbers?

As long as the Nucks and Leafs manage to screw up their picks and not get a great player out of the deal, that's all I am hoping for.

Just noticed this (exact same town and birthdate):

Michael Dal Colle

Born June 20, 1996. Richmond Hill, Ont. 6'2, 176 pounds. C/LW

67 GP 39 G 56A - 95 points.

1.42 points/game

Sam Bennett

Born June 20, 1996. Richmond Hill, Ont. 6'0, 181 pounds. C/LW.

57 GP 36 G 55A - 91 Points

1.60 Points/game.

Either would be good!
