No, they are the most often NOTICED because their colour of skin sticks out.

People of all races have bad apples.

You've been clueless regarding hockey talk....apparently you're now clueless regarding societal issues as well

WRONG

Again, first hand experience. I've been with groups of only consisting 2 or 3 of us, and the colour of my skin leads them to come up with a boatload of excuses.

...and what if it's not a ''big gang'' but simply a big group of people celebrating someone's birthday? Should these people have to change their plans?

I know many people pay $10-20 when the bouncers make up an excuse.....and these bouncers accept it, and let these ''coloured'' people walk in. I have too much pride to offer money. I shouldn't have to pay my way into a club because I'm brown. I was born in this very own ######ing city

Who the f*** has 5 pieces of ID on them anyways

THIS HAPPENS TO WHITE PEOPLE TOO!!!!
i know you'll come back with, you just don't understand... you don't see it happening because you're not brown.
well, you don't notice it happens to white people too that they come up with bs excuses, i guess. but you wouldn't understand this cause you're not white i guess.

You are a clear example of why this has become a problem in THIS CITY.

Unfortunately, there are too many people like you living in denial.

It's one thing to be denied if you're being a sh*t disturbor. It's another, if you're an educated, upstanding citizen who has won numerous scholarships, no trouble whatsoever with the law, dressed appropriately (no baggy pants, no piercings, no funky haircut) at the club, and still being denied CONSISTENTLY. I doubt any white person who fits the above categories has been denied at least 25 times.

Keep living in denial though.

you have no idea about my experiences. so right off the bat, shut your mouth about that and how i'm living in denial.
i know racism exists. i know it sucks. i've had to deal with **** myself both being descriminated against (yes, that's right, you heard it here first folks, whites aren't the only ones that can be racist) and having to deal with all the bs that comes from someone tossing around accusations of you being racist. i am in no way in denial.

your last post you put a huge emphasis on education, how squeaky clean your image is and the like. now i have no idea here but i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you're more of the nerdier persuasion. possibly they're not letting you in because you're a nerd instead of you being brown. who knows. i am just so sick of people crying "racism" about everything, especially when they don't know for sure that that's even the cause.

I'm an asian, been to all those clubs with no real trouble. I personally think the problem is the way you're dressed than anything. I personally wear skate shoes and that type of stuff, if i was wearing what a "typical" asian gangster wore, I figure that's where i'd have problems getting in. Although to be fair I stay away from places like Cowboys and hang out more around places like the Drum and such.

Hey idiot, thanks for proving my point in your last sentence.

Haha, because I have a criminal free record I'm a nerd? Getting good marks makes me a nerd? Keep living in denial and rationalize.

You are everything wrong with society...take a hike

English your first language?

You're argument basically can be summarized as follows: White people are discriminated against too. 2 wrongs make a right. Let's push the club/bar entry problem under a rug and pretend it's not going on.

Go suck a lemon:baby:

one other thing to add to this debate: they probably are doing some racial profiling. why?
safety? possibly
keeping their main clientele happy? possibly - its proven that the suberbanite wigger sub species will cower in fear and often flee when encountered by an actual black person.
make more money? possibly - its fairly common knowledge that your average asain can't hold their liquor compared to the average white guy (apparantly its the lack of a certain enzyme in most asian's metabolisms - if anyone knows for sure and can confirm that'd be super) therefore higher tolerance = more drinks = more $$

its an interesting aspect of this topic - not just is it happening cause its pretty obvious it is, just to what extent - but why

i believe you meant to say "Is English your first language?"

and i'm not saying two wrongs make a right. i was merely pointing out some hypocracy - like ****ing up the very sentance that you criticize my grammar and spelling in.

these attitudes that minorities are the only ones that get **** on and minorities are always getting **** on, i think, are the biggest obstacles in creating true equality.

I'm guessing your Ancestors/Grandparents lived in the Southeast (US)

Wow, you're post shows so much ignorance/stereotypes. I'm ashamed that you're living in Calgary.

" safety? possibly

How many instances in Calgary has a black/Asian/Middle East guy been a potential harm to others in the club?

Who the hell is the main clientele?
You do realize it's the f***ing law to not racially profile in businesses? Remember the issues in America? Underground railway? Do some research and tell me it's right.
Fear my @ss. I don't know anyone who is in fear when a black enters a club, and ''often flees''
Please stop, you're making yourself look like a fool

Again, illegal practice even if an asian guy can't drink as much.

Stop making justifications/rationalizations. It's wrong...no if's and but's.

Where has anyone made such a claim?

I'm only speaking my first hand experiences with the club/bar scene in this city. I've been a victim of such, and I deserve to voice my concerns.

WHERE DID I SAY I AGREE WITH THIS PRACTICE?!!
i was curious what you think the bar owner's rationalization was.

I watched the actual news report and what was happening was pretty obvious. These guys were sober, clean cut and dressed like just like or even better than everyone else that was getting in to those dumps, but these guys weren't getting in.

One bouncer (or it might have been a uniformed cop, which is a much bigger deal) said "sorry guys, it's politics".

Another segment involved the spokesperson from Mynt watching the video of these guys getting denied access with the "it's over 25 tonight" excuse. The spokesperson commented (I'm paraphrasing here) "the bouncer was right, because sometimes the 22-24 year old genre of people scare the 26-28 genre of people".

I thought that comment was brilliant.

hmm kinda sounds like that tongue in cheek comment i made about the black man scaring off everyone in the bar.
one person's brilliant and one person is donning their klan robes and soaking some crosses in gasoline

Go right ahead. You haven't done so yet...all you've done is argue that ''white people get discriminated as well.''

Again, this is irrelevent to the issue on hand.

...and just because people toss around the term Racism far too often, that doesn't mean a huge problem doesn't exist

I don't think Rouge actually thinks the person is brilliant.

If you don't mind I'd like to hear about these experiences. Clearly you are a victim and I'd like to hear your tale of woe.
