Edmonton seems like they are goin to pick Draisaitl, unless they really do pick Bennett. If they pick Bennett, I really hope we go for Dal Colle rather than Draisaitl, I just don't feel the hype for Draisaitl as much as Dal Colle. Besides, we need more power-forward-like wingers.
Ritchie at #4 would be a mistake. At #4, we have a better chance at getting a better pick and not as risky.

If the Oilers draft Bennett and ruin his development I'll be so upset. Hopefully they pass on him and the Flames snag him. Bennett probably needs another year in the OHL, Reinhart, Ekblad and Draisaitl probably can all jump in right away but he's the guy I want. I think he'll be best of the best from this draft.

Bennett is starting to rise past Reinhart for me. Really hoping one of the Sams falls to us if we get 4 (I don't see anyway Ekblad gets past the Oilers)

We finished right where we should, IMO. Clearly better than the relegation tier of Buffalo, Edmonton, and Florida, but probably more deserving of a high pick than the teams in the next tier (NYI, Carolina, Vancouver (LOL), Jets, Toronto (LOL)).

Absolutely unreal to me that Vancouver sits in the #6 draft spot, and Toronto sits in #8.
What a pair of piece of crap teams.
Also, nice of Ottawa to finish out with a 5 game win streak.....because **** you Anaheim.

I think if Burke and the scouting staff really think that if Bennett, Ekblad and Reinhart are gone that Richie is the BPA, you probably see the Flames trade down a few spots, depending on their read of the other teams.

I doubt it, if anything he will push to move up with picks and possible prospects.
He's not going to trade down our best pick in franchise history IMO

Can those who think the Flames would trade down explain to me why?
I ask only because this is the ONLY top five pick this team has ever had. That right there to me says "Not a snowballs chance in hell" will they trade down their pick this year.
If Ritchie is their guy they'll take hit at 4 plain and simple. They won't be trading down. I refuse to believe it will happen and there is absolutely zero logic in thinking they would do so.

I do t think we have to worry about Oilers getting Ekblad. Florida will pick him at 2 without a doubt. Their d core isn't that strong so I look to them picking him.

Can not believe the Isles came back and passed us.
The lottery is playing with house money now to me, even if they "lose" and move down to 5th, in my mind that's still ok... although winning it would be freaking sweet and I like the odds of staying 4th.
