On not leaving the building, Canucks have some if not the best doctors in Vancouver here and a pretty top notch medical room. Sounds, looks more like a stinger on the shoulder.
I just don't get this turning your back on the hitter thing. I would feel no different if that was a Flame on the ice. I believe if guys take the hits the way you are suppose to, shoulder to the glass not your face and 90% of these hits are not bad.

Where did we get Byron from, the Iron League?
"Killer" Paul Byron, the 4th Hanson Brother

Does anyone think the hit is similar to the one starting at 0:51?

Can't speak for everyone, but when I said he "turned" I meant more that he stopped up short instead of continuing to the boards and playing it safe. He knew Byron was there, why stop a couple feet short of the boards when Byron is right on his tail? He put himself in danger, not that I think Byron was "clean" either.

I understand not everyone on here is a medical professional.....But I am, and take it from me....Leaving the ice on a board in a collar means nothing. Big bad things like paralyzed and whatnot are far fetched. Getting him to move his fingers means nothing, its a standard assessment step.....And all the drama about him "breathing ok, moving ok, etc" is all just that....Drama....

Looks like Byron is 90 degrees perpendicular to Sedin during the hit to me.

From behind people. Sedin was always facing away from Byron. Those facts are pretty black and white.
Did he hit him hard, not really, but that doesn't matter. Hit from a vulnerable location like that is something you learn from 6 years old as the worst thing you can do on the ice. Can ruin peoples lives from a small hit, because of how dangerous that spot is on the ice.

I want to know who thinks Byron could have stopped in that 1/4 of a second when sedin turned his back towards him.
it sucks Sedin is hurt and unfortunate that it happened but I think we all can really agree that the hit wasn't malicious in any way, just an unfortunate byproduct of playing hockey hard.

I've seen that replay a lot of times, and I still can't figure out how he got hurt. Must have been one of those plays that everything was in place to cause injury. I've seen worse hits a thousand times before. Hope he is OK though.
SN says he has now gone to the hospital but is conscious and moving all his extremities.

Well, most of those guys are injured, but after the trade deadline, there is no roster limit.

Sucks about the injury but I just wanted to say that I literally got goosebumps when Jkhnny Hockey scored. I choose to believe this means our rebuild is going to be awesome.
I was really bummed that JH didn't have a chance to ride the momentum of that goal.

Maybe if the sedins weren't the biggest embellishers in the game people would not say he's milking it

Was probably more bad luck than a really dirty hit, but people taking this opportunity to make fun of the Sedins are embarrassing themselves.

Ya true. I don't think the hit was super dirty in anyway, Bryon however could have let up in a mean nothing game.

You also learn not to stop and turn your back 3 feet from the boards... You would think a seasoned nhl player would know this...

Can we all agree on "Bad, but not malicious, with an unfortunate result and we all hope Sedin is alright"
??
