Ah screw it. I'm throwing caution to the wind and declaring that Monohan and Gaudreau our the saviours and are going to bring home the Cup eventually.

^^Yeah, was only thinking today's players. Can't exclude Theo, but they are somewhat different. Johnny is tenacious, and Theo was a feisty little bloodhound. Gaudreau I believe will be successful in his niche.

And it won't be damn long and my phone will quit trying to correct his name.

Liking Gaudreau so far. Nice to have a guy like that on our team. His skill is fun to watch.

I think Burke is thinking long and hard before he gives Cammy the retirement contract.

Billings, Cundari and Breen on D does not conjure up a lot of hope for tonight.

Sven will be fine. One of "his" problems was the fact he was the only young story going for the Flames at the time.

It's pretty telling and kinda cool that the rookie story for the Flames at the moment isn't the big two-way 19 year old center with 20+ goals. It'll be easier for Baertschi, and any other young player moving forward, if the Flames continue to be a drafting and developing hockey club.

So Torts' thinking of Hartley starting McGrattan and Westgarth in the game to cause trouble is a MYTH!!

After 1st period, i am impressed with Gaudreau. He is a pepperpot and very in control. He's not afraid to steal the puck from big guys and very sound defensively and offensively. Bill Arnold is having a quiet night so far except for that he almost scored. I guess I am happy with both of them so far. They got their feet wet in the NHL so I can see a better period for those two.

It's so hard to temper expectations. I was one of the worst resisters to the rebuild. Just wanted to chase the playoffs with that tired old roster. God this is exciting. Seems like we have so much to look forward to. Imagine we could add Sam Bennett to the mix?

Nice first period by Gaudreau. You can tell he thinks the game quicker than other prospects and didn't look all that out of place. In fact, those take aways were things of beauty! Hard not to get excited!

Yeah, it really shows how vital Brodie is to this team going forward.

Hope he's ok.
