After all this - the flames will lose tonight......BUT - a team outside the bottom 4 will win the draft lotto - pushing us back to 5th.

Thats the hockey gods pwning us.
Take that Flames! Serves you right for trying to lose your way our of a rebuild - didnt you learn from the Coilers?

I thought that as well but he blocks too many shots... I figure Byron takes up less net

After all this cheering for the Flames to finish 4th and the Islanders to finish 5th, the Islanders will win the lottery as the 5th seed.

That would be quite the epic troll from the hockey gods. I'm ok with it as long as they compensate by giving us lottery win next year.

sportsclubstats gives the Flames a 58% chance to finish 27th and a 42% chance to finish 26th

coin flip.

I could easily see us pumping the Canucks tonight. Never underestimate the suck level of a team trying to get a coach fired.

Couldn't disagree more, but do want an entertaining game without Johnny getting crushed. 4th vs 5th could be huge in this year's draft. Last year, I might not have cared as much.

So with the Isles winning, Coilers done, and Vancouver playing the Flames, the OOT threads can soon R.I.P.???

The problem with the 5th pick is you know its fate that we'd have the lottery go against us and we'd drop down to 6th.

You don't have to cheer for a loss. You can just sit back and enjoy the game and if we lose, it'll be the best case scenario.

In what could be his final NHL game, J.S. Giguere gets to start against the Ducks. Awesome!

Yeah and IMO the drop from 5th to 6th is quite a bit bigger than 4th to 5th. I'll sit back and enjoy the game, but won't be upset with a loss here.

Won't he be the backup in the playoffs? Berra hasn't exactly hit the ball out of the park. In fact, he's been pretty bad. But yeah, if he doesn't come on in relief, it could be his last game.
