Great that he's had some success in his college career but really people. Look at this list. How many of these players were anything in the NHL? 6 or 7? Of them who are real difference makers? 2 players in twenty plus years?
1993 Paul Kariya
1994 Chris Marinucci
1995 Brian Holzinger
1996 Brian Bonin
1997 Brendan Morrison
1998 Chris Drury
1999 Jason Krog
2000 Mike Mottau
2001 Ryan Miller
2002 Jordan Leopold
2003 Peter Sejna
2004 Junior Lessard
2005 Marty Sertich
2007 Ryan Duncan
2008 Kevin Porter
2009 Matt Gilroy
2010 Blake Geoffrion
2011 Andy Miele
2012 Jack Connolly
2013 Drew LeBlanc
Listen, I hope he's Paul Kariya v.2 ... but lets get real. I really don't get the joy. 99% of people here have never even seen him play. His chances of being an NHL player are pretty small imo. The odds are really against him. Just shaking my head at all the media hype and ridiculous nonsense surrounding a mid round pick signing a contract.

Technically. Not due to any actual merit outside of a PR stunt. Let's see how he does after a training camp etc. next year.

only player in history to win a USHL championship, NCAA championship and WJC championship
should have had 2 hobey baker awards
won too many hockey awards to list off in a reasonable time
As a us college bound prospect you can't get a much more storied amateur career.
perhaps one of the most offensively skilled prospects the Flames have had in modern history...
if you can't get a little excited about that, than i feel sorry for you
does he still have a long way to go still ... yes, but it should be a fun journey

I haven't said anything not nice. Just of my perspective. We should be celebrating wins and playoffs. This is how far we've fallen.

I've seen plenty of celebrating of wins this season. Playoffs will be coming in the not too distant future, hopefully.
Patience, grasshopper.
