I really hope a bunch of the Flames faithful don't run out and get Gaudreau jersey's before he becomes a consistent member of the team. Last thing I want is a bunch of fans piling on irrational hate to the coaching staff and management if he ends up spending significant time developing his game with Heat because they are mad the player on their jersey isn't on the team like what happened with Sven.

Now that it appears he will be a Flames I have to say I am as excited about this guy as any prospect we've had, including Iginla.
Not because I think he's a slam dunk to become a superstar - but because storyline is just so damn interesting. Both his physical stature and skill level are so highly unique - that the question of if he can be an impact NHLer, and if so how much of one, is going to be fascinating to follow in the coming years.

And if he can somehow translate to the NHL - it is a game changer.

As Flames fans we've got something really fun coming here.

Was thinking I could get the name stitched for now, and maybe hold off to get confirmation on the number.

But I might do 13 anyway, because I think he'll eventually take on that number. Sooner than later if Cammy leaves in the offseason. But probably better to wait until monday or tuesday to see what number he takes for the Vancouver game.

Hope that Guy and Jane Gaudreau get a really good impression on their trip of the city, the people, and everyone in the organization. Hope there is a warm welcoming, including a greeting from the captain himself when they walk into the building. Get the family feeling good about where he's gonna be. He may be a bit upset with all the changes right now, but I'll bet he'll be well over it by the time he skates off the ice on sunday. That taste of the pros will clear his mindset awfully quickly, me thinks.

This is the kind of excitement a rebuilding team needs to energize it's fan base as they look forward to next season. Exhibition game tickets will become a very hot commodity as fans scarmble for a chance to see Gaudreau live.
