I also think it's great the Expo crew granted Garret Wang's Make-A-Wish and let him host the panel.

I wonder if there are even any weekend passes or tickets left. Game over man! Game over!

The tickets for the Aliens event are separate from the Expo itself...so you don't need an Expo pass to get in, and conversely an Expo pass does not get you into the Aliens event.

Serious question, what do you actually do at these expos? Is it like a Q&A with all these famous people, or like autographs/pictures?

Lots to see and do. I personally don't do the autograph/picture thing but yes that's the huge part of it. One time stars of whatever make decent coin, sometimes their only income now, doing these gigs.
Panels are a lot of fun, if the panelists are into it (Brent Spinner) and not just going through the motions (Summer Glau). I find the cartoon voices panels to consistently be the best. Rob Paulson and John Dimaggio are returning this year I think and have been the highlight for me.
Shopping and getting cool stuff is also involved, lots of cool geek finds to be had.
And to costumes, really cool to see the time and energy some people put in. Yah you get the duds but there are some real gems out there. That's not mentioning the Sexy chicks dressed up either.
Honestly something for everyone.

If you're a comic fan, you can find old back issues - which is the big part of the fun for me. I'm constantly filling in gaps in my massive runs of Avengers and (Amazing) Spider-Man.

With Paul Reiser coming, all we need is Greg Evigan for a "My Two Dads" reunion.

Karl Urban is out of the Expo due to scheduling conflicts.
In is Karen Gillan - Amy Pond from Doctor Who, and Nebula from the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
Saturday and weekend passes are all sold out now.

Just for anyone thinking about going only to Aliens EXPOsed, photo ops and autographs will not be available at that event, only through the Calgary Expo. And Sigourney Weaver will only be doing photo ops and autographs on Sunday.
I've never been to one of these things but the fact that she's coming is tempting. Been a huge fan of hers and the Aliens saga...

It's worth a look see if you're even remotely into video games, comics, sci fi TV and film, etc. I went to check it out for a day a couple years back and then did a weekend pass last year and will be this year as well. Found a day wasn't nearly enough to see and do everything.
Anyways, Sigourney Weaver's panel will probably be Sunday afternoon so if you do a day pass that's probably your one. I'm still debating the separate Aliens Exposed event Saturday evening but only cause of cost. Event itself sounds awesome as I'm a huge fan of the film and franchise as well.

Just announced today that Matt Smith is coming! With Karen Gillan attending as well, the place is going to be overrun by Doctor Who fans.

FYI, some Saturday only tickets have become available throughout today. You can purchase one at a a time. I was lucky and able to snag 4 since this morning. Good luck.

There is one 18+ panel on the Expo programming list... and it's origami.

Yup. It's not as big as NYCC or the Comic-Con in San Diego but it's certainly worth at least a day visit. More if you don't get a chance to go to the other bigger shows.
