I'd like to see someone explain exactly why. The guy has already won a national championship. He's played in 3 years of big, high pressure college playoff games. How is winning two more games "so much more valuable" than getting in an NHL dressing room and seeing how pros like Giordano prepare for a game?
It's very easy to simply flip the argument and say it's better for him to lose this game because he'll be even more hungry for a championship in the future. Just a useless narrative that can be flipped to defend either side.

How he personally plays is important so in that regard maybe him dominating and winning is the best outcome but if he loses this game and plays well it isn't going to make him a worse player at the NHL level.

Agreed partially. However, I do think success breeds success, and quite a few fans wishing failure on him should think twice about what that means. Doubly so since that attitude is completely selfish, self-centred and arrogant. I'd rather he enjoy success this weekend in the NCAA final than fail today, sign and play in an utterly meaningless game against Vancouver.
Oh, and tie game!

There, that's exactly the kind of effort they need. Great pull-back play on the boards and a feed to the defenseman at the top of the circle. Great shot too.
Get more support like that and they have a big chance.

There they go, get a little help from another line.
Should give them a chance in this one now.

I don't think anyone in hockey would think losing out in the semi-finals of the National Championship is a failure. That's pretty damn good. Would be awesome for him to win it again this year, but it really isn't the end of the world if he loses today. It's not like we are all die-hard BC College fans. Does anyone on this board even go to or is alumni of BC?

I think if he hadn't already won and not had a career at BC in which they were a powerhouse every year it could be true to get him a sense of what winning feels like/takes.
But since he has already won it and won at other levels, plus the fact it is a Semi-Final I think playing in the NHL game would have more, not much, impact for him.
The fact it is the last game this season plays an impact as well. If we had another week of NHL I would say not so important to get him into the Vancouver game.

This is where it gets tough for a kid like Johnny, the game is tightening up and becoming a grind fest. Arnold is now becoming a huge factor, too bad we didn't have that kid.....oh wait?

If he hasn't learned from being around one of the best in business for years, he's not going to learn from one game.

That would have been a pretty, backbreaking goal. Johnny's pass a little behind.
