LA takes this one in a hard fought 2-1 loss. Is Backlund playing? That guy needs to reach 20 goals stat!

BVB was guaranteed a certain number of games when he signed his deal with the Flames. Not saying he doesn't deserve to be in the line-up but you also shouldn't read too much into it either.

Yep, understood. I was commenting more on how he appears to be moving up the line up....understanding they want to see how he reacts as well.

I think that due to Byron out for the birth of his child, a spot on the 1RW opened up. Hartley seems to like putting big & gritty on that RW (which is why I feel there's a good chance we end up wih Ritchie) and enter BVB.

Goalie matchup tonight in CGY looks to be Karri Ramo vs. Jonathan Quick.

I hope we lose and islanders win. Really want that 4th pick.
Looking at the teams that will be iced next season, I'm guessing we will have a very slim chance at McDavid? Not that it's the end of the world.

Los Angeles Kings @ Calgary Flames - 8:00 PM - TSN
No Doughty or Regehr for the Kings:
“@reallisa: Looks like Drew Doughty won't play - out there for extra work”
“@reallisa: Regehr also out - unspecified injury
Talked to Doughy - as expected - if this were playoffs he'd be in. Wise to play it safe”

The roster looks slightly better this game, but shouldn't stand a chance against the kings
6-2 Flames.

My first live game since the lockout. Flew in from Vancouver for this game and the next. Pretty pumped. Plan to shout Nor-ris Tro-phy everytime Gio is on the ice.
2-0 flames.

Man I hope we lose tonight.. I cant bare the thought of picking 6th-8th instead of top 5... for a second season in arrow. Losing a few games in april isnt gonna ruin our culture.

Flames and Kings have split their last 4 meetings, with Ramo winning both games for the Flames and Ortio losing the other two. I suspect we'll see a win boys.

Does this game mean anything to LA? Are they still battling Minny for positioning?
I hate to say I want them to lose but I also don't want to fall out of the top 5. Team has proven everything and more at this point.
Oh well, I guess I will just go home, crack a few beers and sit back and enjoy the game. I don't get a chance to watch many on the tv.

Tied with Minnesota at 96 points, while LA has a game in hand. Top 4 are still bound to change so nothing meaningful other than winning for the sake of winning.

No, they're locked into the #3 spot in the Pacific. They can't catch San Jose and can't be caught by Phoenix. Minnesota is irrelevant to them because the Wild are in the Central Division.
That's why Doughty and Regehr are being rested.
