I'm listening to the Vancouver Team 1040 radio and they know about as much as everyone in this thread. They speculate that the ownership didn't like Gillis' comments last week on their show, which is interesting because I think many fans and the radio hosts respected what he had to say.

I loved watching Trevor Linden play when I was growing up. Watching him and Pavel Bure made for some very exciting games.

Linden spent much of his career playing under Pat Quinn and hopefully during those years he was able to learn a few things which he can carry over to a future career as GM or VP or whatever role.

I liked Linden, then he got sucked into the diving culture of the team.

Nick Kypreos@RealKyper1 min

Markus Naslund is the other name floating around the #Canucks situation. Maybe I'm wrong but I can't see a Linden/Naslund combo.

That's right Vancouver, Edmonton is doing everything right so you should you know, hire all former members of your team because you hold them in such high esteem.

[waives hands]

You want to hire Dave Tiger Williams as your next head coach.

Really sounds like some of the media are flinging names around to create a story. Linden refutes it, and now Kypreos throws in Naslund's name?

The Vancouver circus is coming out in full force.

This is likely the real story:

Nick Kypreos ‏@RealKyper 12m
Interesting timing regard' rumblings of front office #Canucks changes. A source claims big reason is season tix renewals down significantly

Owner freaking out about losing out on revenue.

Wow seems extreme when things get stressful at work all I do is put a note on the window "This is not an exit". It only costs a few pennies not a few million.

Come on Gillis and Torts are trying fella's give it some more time.

Makes the bringing in a beloved team icon thing make more sense.

Season ticket renewals are down, bring back the most beloved figure in team history.

I wondered if this might have something to do with it, especially after all of the empty seats at last nights game. Got to pay for all of the fired exec's some how!

Believe deadline for renewals is tomorrow so timing is everything here. Make changes and suddenly ticket renewals pick up again.

Brooksie was throwing out that Torts is saying that he could work with Feaster again. Team 1040 saying that it could be difficult finding a qualified GM to work with ownership and Torts. Believe Feaster could be one of the few who could work under this structure but could see fans in full revolt if Feaster is the guy replacing Gillis.

Terrible news if you hate the Canucks. Gillis got handed an excellent team and ran it into the ground. He should have been fired when he named Luongo the Captain of the team.

Doesn't the coach normally pick the captain?

Oh God, please let Feaster be their new GM. That is the best news I've heard all day.

If I was an owner I would have fired him for those comments not even taking account the fact that he demolished a Stanley Cup contender in near record time. He went out to the media and pleaded for his job publicly and shifted a lot of blame to the coach. I want accountability in my management and throwing guys under the bus is the worst thing you want to see in a manager.

IMO the reason Linden is being quiet is because Gillis probably hasn't been fired as of yet and it's a matter of the dominos falling.
