Also to bring up another interesting point: the site that lists those numbers (http://www.vgchartz.com) shows those Titanfall numbers as for the week ending March 15th, after 5 days on sale since its release on March 11th.
The Infamous sales numbers are for the week ending March 22nd -- just two days of being on sale since its release on March 21st.
So Titanfall = 900,000 in 5 days, Infamous = 700,000 in 2 days. Who trounced who, again?
The only thing I've heard thus far is that F1 2014 is confirmed for the next gen, and that NHL 15 will have details released at E3 (early June) and will likely utilise the Ignite Engine (which is incredible in FIFA 14).
Last I heard NHL 15 will not be on next gen. I am still holding out hope that EA realizes that is a terrible decision and changes their minds. I guess we will se when E3 comes around.

Makes no sense it wouldn't be. AFAIK NHL14 wasn't on PS4/XB1 because they wanted to get a head start with NHL15 on those systems.
I hadn't heard of it not showing up on next gen, but I know some EA official was basically non-committal about it when asked in the fall, so who knows.
Regardless, what a colossal mistake that would be. The team EA uses for the NHL series is pretty poor though, so it wouldn't be THAT surprising if it did happen that way.

EA would rather mail in another year by just doing a basic roster update on NHL 14 PS360 with some obscure new feature like more realistic fan reactions
as much as I like hockey I am done with NHL games until next gen and even then its wait and see

My friend works at EA. There's definitely a next gen version. There's no reason there wouldn't be.
In a message sent to those affected overnight, Microsoft apologised for the issue and stated: "We know you experienced an issue signing in on your Xbox One on 3/11/2014. We apologize and will soon give you 7 days of Xbox Live Gold for your inconvenience."
Xbox One users were left unable to sign in to their Xbox Live profile on the evening of March 11, preventing them from accessing their save games and playing multiplayer titles.
At the time Microsoft stated that the issue didn't "have anything to do with Titanfall", but has never clarified the actual cause of the problem.

They're likely noncommittal because you don't generally talk about a game before it's formally announced.
Also, regarding the team being poor... they've been selling copies in increasing numbers for several straight years and the games have been getting excellent reviews. There are pockets of loud gamers who don't like the games, but the sales numbers insinuate they're in the minority.

I more-so meant "poor" in terms of quality and resources compared to their other teams. FIFA and Madden have a lot more resources available.
They make good games, but the NHL series doesn't hold a candle in any respect to the other two major sport franchises.
How offloading game processing to Azure for Xbox One can improve graphics and performance:
Cliffs:
Two identical high-end gaming rigs run the same technical demo, but one version is cloud-enabled.
The number of chunks, physics calculations, etc. required overwhelms the first demo, pushing the frame rate from 32 FPS to a lowly 2 FPS at its worst. The second demo runs virtually flawless (a split second drop to 31 FPS from 32 was seen once).
I should be clear that this demo is NOT running on Xbox One, but it serves the purpose of demonstrating how cloud computing benefits gaming.

Server offloading might be a cool feature but it comes at the price of requiring a network connection and continued support server support for the games.
Given how short a time some of the online servers have been supported in the past especially by the likes of EA or the whole Nintendo wii gamespy debacle I can't see how this will be good if the servers shut down after a year or two. You'd end up with a game you couldn't play or a crappy graphics version at best. Neither of which will be great for the consumer.

a) Virtually everyone has a network connection. It isn't a bandwidth intensive thing to do, either.
b) This is a totally legit concern, I get this.

If you don't offload, you can't get the better graphics anyway, so that's moot. The demo shows that even a high end rig will get bogged down, and console specs never come close to high end gaming PCs. But I can see why you're weary about it from a support perspective.
