Never seen a scratch, since I've never used it, but I've seen people using it on muddy undercarriages, tires, and engines.

If you insist on using that horrible implement, do yourself a favour and rinse it out thoroughly first.

You don't know how many times, someone has brought a new car back to us, two weeks after buying it, and dumping $300 bucks getting their car wet sanded or polished because they rubbed the bottom of Maclean Creek that was stuck to Jed's Jeep TJ all over their brand new pearl black GTI.

I like to take the same logic to golfing.

Obviously there's a standard rate-of-play that should be kept in mind when playing, but there are some straight up dooshes on the course that think if your not in a cart and going with no practice swings its ok to be hitting into you and giving you stink eyes at the tee-box etc.

It's f***ing golf, team. If you're in a rush you should probably find a different sport. And yes, when you almost hit me with your ball for the 3rd time, I will take it upon myself to hit it into the field next door.

My Ex had it. She had a black truck, and the first time she washed it she scratched the hell out of the paint from a foam brush full of dirt. My wash steps:

- Soap
- Rinse
- spray out foam brush at end of rinse
- foam brush
- wax
- rinse


I spend at least 10-15 seconds spraying off the foam brush before it touches my paint. I also make sure I get as much dirt off the vehicle before I use it, and I only use it on my tires/rims after I do the body. Never had a problem with the paint.

If anyone wants to wash a car properly go buy a chamois (a good one) and just spray the car with water, and wipe it dry. I worked as a car detailer when I was young, and that's all I ever used. Nevrdull on chrome rims, tire shine on black bumpers and tires. Showroom shine.

Pre-soak is definitely the key. I just use that, and then wax or rinse and I'm done. I wash my work vehicle 3-4 times a week so I like to get it clean quickly and cheaply.

golf is the exact same as the left hand lane. If you are not keeping up to the group/ car in front of you, and there is someone behind you who will go faster than you...pull the f over, and let them through.

My don't give a #### and cheap car wash method is to use $1 for the soap spray. When time runs out I use the brush. Then put in another $1 to rinse.
$2 gets my car clean enough

This makes no sense. I use a water blade to get the water off the windows and the finish. Then proceeed to use a micro fibre cloth to wipe off any excess water left.

Windows are cleaned with a product called Invisible Glass - both outside and in. Never streaks

I spray Simple Green on my tires before washing and the tires come out quite clean and never need treatment to make them look black.

Mine is a 2006 Escape and when I take it in for servicing I get comments from the mechanics and service writers on how clean and new my vehicle looks. My mother thinks I take better care of my car than my house

Simple solution is to let them play through. They will appreciate your offer and you will be able to continue your game without the threat of someone hitting into you. A course marshall would tell you to do much the same thing.

Use a water blade on a black or any dark vehicle for 7 years and let me know the results. You can wash white and silver cars with a bag of gravel and and a garden rake and they will look new.

But that is also another tip. If you just wanna run it through the machine washes or use a brush, get silver, gold or white cars. They almost never show scratches or minor scuffs, and will always appraise better when they are 5+ years old.

If you use liquid ice, or any other spray on liquid wax, they will enhance the gloss, and remove water spots at the same time. Thats pretty much what every dealer on the planet uses touches up their showroom cars.

A water blade doesn't scratch the paint and no my paint job doesn't look as it was washed with a bag of gravel. I see people at the car wash use that blade on their dark finishes and say they have no coomplaints as to scratching. Try it before you knock the product.

I never rub my truck down after it takes the finish off.If your worried about the look it gives afterwards just do a auto wash the air dryer gives a better look than rubbing it down and it doesn't damage the paint.In the winter i use the tire cleaner as soap as it has a higher concentrate of soap than the regular stuff.

I sometimes use a water blade on the windows but I'll never touch my paint with one. Not really the blade itself that can be a problem but if there's still something on your paint and you run a blade across it it can get dragged along the paint.

It makes sense to not use the blade when there is still mud, dirt, etc on your finish. Check before you use it.

I'm not talking about a still dirty car, I mean even the smallest speck of dirt. No it won't be a deep very noticeable scratch, but it's just asking for paint swirls.

How do you get paint swirls using a blade?

If you're worried about the smallest speck of dirt then don't wipe it dry or wax it for that matter.
