Nice write-up.
Van Brabant seemed to make the best of his 10 minutes last night. Two shots, 2 blocked shots and 2 hits. Can't really ask for much more from an energy line player playing his 2nd game.
I am happy that Ramo was able to beat his old team.

Loved Brian McGrattan pushing Van Brabrant out of the left wing spot on a face off to jaw at the opposing Tampa player that was riding the rookie. Great leadership.

Ohh I was wondering what got Big Ern riled up. He really was in police mode and I had no idea what happened.

Agree, but why was he falling all over the ice? Hanowski was much better-7 shifts in the 3rd period of a one goal game- he is gaining the trust of the coaches to be out there.

missed watching the game. Are there any clips of McGratton doing this? I'd love to see it.

the best was his angle ... van brabant leaves, McGrattan rolls in and then instead of facing the faceoff he just faces the Lightning player and jaws at him. Puck drops and the Bolt was on his way out of there.
it was Crombeen I think

" Their percentage chance of drafting 4th moved from 80% to 63% over night"
Why is Cammalleri even dressing never mind getting top line and PP minutes?
It is not like we will be able to trade the rights to Cammalleri and the 5th overall pick to the Islanders for the 4th overall pick.

It was..... I think McGrattan simply was trying to help Crombeen out, there could have been some water in his ear from a swim in the ocean earlier and McGrattan was just helping by testing his hearing. Of course I could be wrong.

I am pretty sure the NHL can fine a team if they think that they are not dressing their best possible line-up.
It's a fuzzy line because obviously it has to be flexible enough that they can try out new players, but not dressing a healthy Cammalleri would be a pretty obvious violation I would think.

I know Chris Breen played, he picked up an assist, but I sure don’t remember him on the ice at all. The quietest 7:15 of ice time I’ve seen, which is great I guess for a stay at home defenseman. His most memorable shift was one spent almost entirely without a stick, which was interesting.

Thanks for the mention. I still think that Chris Breen may turn into a servicable bottom pairing dman when used properly. Looking at icetime stats I'm guessing he was paired with Billins this time, which is exactly what he needs alongside him - the puck moving dman rather than O'Brien and I'm glad Hartley finally realized that.
To me, it seems that Breen still can't fully translate his performance to the NHL level but I'm all for extending him for 1 more year. He's the important piece for the Heat and many people here tend to ignore his contribution, leadership and the fact that he pretty much developed Wotherspoon's game in Abby this year.

Stajan and Byron left the team due to "personal" reasons.. What fine will the NHL be bringing down

Well, Stajan did have personal reasons.
Byron is not nearly as consequential as the first 2.

Byron's wife was probably going into labor. They mentioned he might leave soon during the OTT game for that reason. Perfectly valid reason for leaving.

For all intents and purposes these are exhibition games for the Flames. A chance to try things out before the real games start.
Cammalleri will not be playing in the next real game for the Flames. What are they getting him ready for??
Also not a lot of the other teams thought Cammalleri was worth a late 1st round pick for their playoff run. Hard for the NHL to consider him an marquee player.

You don't know that Cammalleri won't be back next season. Burke still has an offer on the table for him, and there is still a chance he signs with the team. What kind of message does it send to other players in the league if Burke has Hartley sit Cammy for the rest of the season? Especially with Cammy currently playing for his next contract, whether it's with the Flames or not. It would be a terrible precedent to set.

He got injured vs TB, hope he can bounce back in time to accomplish that. Monahan could've been on pace for 25 if he was healthy. Damn injuries.
