Coming off the schools first playoff win in years, it would be cool if Gilies, Jankowski and Gilmore could be a big part of getting to the Frozen four next year.
In terms of the Big team, I sure Gillies is at least to years away from getting a look, weather he is in school or the ahl.

I dunno. Roy's been so inconsistent that Ward was starting a goalie on a tryout over him.
We could easily sign an UFA goalie instead for the minor league team (someone graduating college or junior.) Combined with signing an UFA goalie to backup Rämo. Roy has no NHL future so I don't think they'll waste their time with him. Might as well sign a better veteran minor leaguer or somebody who actually has NHL potential.

I anticipate we draft a goalie this year as well.

We have two thirds, so maybe we reach and take one with Pittsburgh's. I'd prefer 4th and 5th rounds for our goalies, but meh.

Ramo has been playing pretty good lately but I could still see us trading for a NHL goalie to be either a 1 or 1A.

I expected as much. Actually would be kind of cool if he and Janko turned pro together.

I sincerely hope Janko develops all 4 years in the NCAA. He could certainly use it. Gillies should turn pro next year.
But I agree, if the situation was right, it would be cool if Janko, Gillies, and Gilmour all turned pro together.

I was hoping he would make the jump to the AHL next season, but staying in college won't hurt him.

Depending if Burke/new GM brings in a veteran goaltender in the offseason it may be best that he's not with the Heat especially if Ortio has to spend another full season with the Heat.

The first story I heard was that Gillies was hoping to sign a pro contract but later Burke said that he had to talk to Gillies to see if he wanted to turn pro or not. Either way, Gillies didn't have a great year, not bad but not great so another year in college is good.

I think it is a solid move by him. Providence is a good program right now to be involved with. Gillies had an up-down-up season. It was nice to see him face some adversity and go through a rough patch as every NHL goalie goes through one. It was a good test, and it was a very positive thing to see him rebound. Apparently the injury wasn't the only thing - he was healthy but still having some tough times, but he rebounded very nicely indeed.
I think another full season in Providence will just keep him progressing nicely.

How the heck are people saying gillies didn't have a great season? Sv percent same as last year...a stupid high percent. Plus he won more games in less games played.

His move clearly means Burke is going after Reimer in the off season.

Sure hope not unless it's a late pick (4th-5th round), drafting a goalie useally doesn't work out too well, who was the last good one? Vernon in 1980?

Hope not, Reimer thinks he's a #1 starter and he isn't. Ramo is better IMO.

Probably Cam Ward and his $6.7M contract.
