Obviously his best decision ever was appointing Yzerman as executive director. Worked out mighty well.

Had a good run. Knew Bob's family growing up. Great family, great guy. Wish him the best. Not sure how he'd work as an NHL GM, but sticking in Calgary would make sense for him for sure.

Oh oh....here's Kevin Lowe's chance to make a graceful exit from Edmonton and move into an even more insulated job.
He's been shining Bob's shoes ever since 2002 when Wayne brought Lowe on to Hockey Canada.

Wasnt he trying to take over the big job as the President of the IIHF?

I would think that he would be a much better fit in the role that Burke has than GM. Nicholson seems more of a manager of people than talent evaluator.

President of the IIHF would be cool. Haven't had a Canadian in that spot in 50 years.

I always figured if he was going to move on, it would be to head up the IIHF.

I suspect there will be a couple of plum openings with the Leafs this offseason. President, GM, or both. Seems like the kind of challenge he'd relish.

Will be really interesting to see where he decides to go from here. One thing that can be expected is a whole lot of offers.

i don't know if bob wiill get a whole lot of offers - partially because i don't think there are a whole lot of jobs out there that he is interested in.
be interesting to know what the hockey insiders really think of him as anytime he was involved building a team, he was able to pick anyone .
Wonder who is the early favourite to fill his role with HC.

Anybody but Kevin Lowe.
I don't understand how anybody can take him seriously.
Just mind bottling.

Press conference is on now. I'm pretty sure Hockey Canada cannot do anything straight forward. This is such a bloated, longwinded pile of crap. Just like the team announcement.
