I don't understand how you can give that a second yellow when Valencia did just as bad of a tackle 5 minutes earlier and got away with it.

That wasnt a great game by Bayern. Very suspect at the back and I'm not a fan of how Pep sets the team up.

Not sure how that is a yellow since he barely touched (if at all) Rooney.
Though, his first yellow could have been a straight red if the referee was in a bad enough mood. And how Valencia escaped with no punishment is beyond me. That was easily the worst tackle of the second half.
Bayern is now forced to take care of business at home, which hopefully is a good thing. Kroos and Lahm will start at CDM and Gotze comes in at CAM. Hopefully with Dante back the back 4 will look better. 2 poor matches in a row for Bayern, but I don't want to take too much away from United. They knew what they had to do and almost played a perfect match

Got to see it. That said, I don't think Rooney dove, as much as embellished the fall.. Should've just been a free kick.
Valencia was similar.
Welbeck's goal should've stuck.
Oh well, if you asked me if I'd take a 1-1 draw at home to the best club in the world before the match, I would've said absolutely.
Gotta pull off a 1-0 or 2-1 miracle now.
What happens to Schwein next game with his red?

He'll be suspended, hopefully just for one match. I don't think there was any intent in the tackle, that's just the edge that he plays with that makes him such an effective player (obviously he'd be more effective actually on the pitch)

^Fellaini ... ugh. What a disappointment. Looks completely lost out there.
Vidic's was as good a header as I've seen.
Deserved second yellow. Silly tackle to be doing whilst on a card.

a transfer ban for two transfer periods for Barcelona ... wow.
Quote:
The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned the Real Federación Espańola de Fútbol (RFEF) and Spanish club FC Barcelona for breaches relating to the international transfer and registration of players under the age of 18.
The sanctions follow investigations initially conducted by FIFA Transfer Matching System GmbH (FIFA TMS) over the course of last year and subsequently by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee as part of disciplinary proceedings. The RFEF and FC Barcelona were found to have violated several provisions concerning the international transfer and first registration of non-Spanish minors with the club, as well as other relevant regulations with regard to the registration and participation of certain players in national competitions. The investigations concerned several minor players who were registered and participated in competitions with the club over various periods between 2009 and 2013.
The Disciplinary Committee regarded the infringements as serious and decided to sanction the club with a transfer ban at both national and international level for two complete and consecutive transfer periods, together with a fine of CHF 450,000. Additionally, the club was granted a period of 90 days in which to regularise the situation of all minor players concerned.

Thats a huge ban for Barca.
It was a stupid tackle for Schweinsteiger to have made but thats alright, Bayern have played most of the season without him, they'll figure it out.

Wow that is a huge ban. Lots of hiding of finances in that Neymar transfer.
So, Javi, Shwein, are banned, and Thiago is hurt.
Does Bayern look like this?
----- Mandzukic
- Ribbery Muller Robben
---- Lahm, Kroos

It is terrible that was called a high foot.
It was in control of the ball for the most part, and it wasn't like he came flying in with his foot high on a 50/50 ball.
That should have been a goal.

Müller was poor yesterday. I expect Götze to start behind Mandzukic.
Each time I see the disallowed Welbeck goal it pisses me off more. BS call.

That's how I would like to see them lined up, Muller can be highly effective in that spot. It's either that or Gotze comes in. At least Dante will be back to shore up the back line a bit.
So why is Chelsea - PSG on Sportsnet West instead of Dortmund - RM?
EDIT: I've got no problem with the disallowed goal (I wonder why?). His foot was way too high. However it was a terrific amount of skill, in my mind it is a problem with the rule, not how the rule was applied.

If I had to guess it would be because sportsnet is more affiliated with the BPL than La Liga or Bundesliga.

I feel like RM is easily the largest draw of all the teams playing today. It would be nice if they at least put the second game on Sportsnet One instead of Sportsnet World

They are trying to force people to pay extra for Sportsnet World, they generally alternate these games between basic packages (Sportsnet West) and the extra tier package. They've been doing this for years, not sure why it surprises anyone.

I get that and rubecube's reasoning is good too. I'm mostly just surprised at the game they chose to on their main channel.
Dortmund is so weak while defending

1-1 PSG & Chelsea
2-0 RM. Madrid is so good, so fast, Dortmund can't defend them
