The whole point to having these guys play now is so they can burn a year of their ELCs. Its not like the Flames are doing it to help the team win. Its to help the player out (and motivate them to sign)
Will be happy to watch all the boys make a run at the Calder cup. Will be a nice substitute for the SC quarter finals which pose little interest this year.
You gotta think that the Heat are a threat with the likes of Gaudreau, Porier, Arnold, Kulak, Culkin and eventually Hankowski/Granlund/Wotherspoon etc.
I'm excited to see them put it together in the post season this year.
I thought Gaudreau couldn't play in the AHL this year?
He can if his NHL contract starts next season.
If his contact starts this season so he can burn a year and play a game in the NHL, he will be in the same boat as Agostino and cannot be assigned to the Heat.

Add Klimchuk to that too. Should be an exciting playoffs!

Only real vid I have found of Gaudreau's 6 point night, any full vids out there that I have missed? Nice goal by Johnny in that vid, his second of the night.
This from Eric Francis "mark my words Cammalleri WILL be traded"?
So we're looking good on signing Johnny then!
Also stated emphatically that Tampa was a bad team that was officially done when Stamkos got hurt.
The guy just trolls for attention and doesn't really care if he's right or wrong. He looks at what the prevailing opinion is on a topic and then writes 500 words advocating the opposite to get hits. He writes for the Sun, so it shouldn't come as any surprise.

Look for the Calgary Flames to put a push on to sign Johnny Gaudreau, a Hobey Baker candidate who plays at Boston College. He's a diminutive forward, but dynamic; and one of the very best players in college hockey.
He's playing in the frozen four for Boston College and as soon as that's over they'll put the push on. If he goes back to his senior year at BC he could declare himself an unrestricted free-agent in the summer of 2015, the Calgary Flames would like to head that off by trying to sign him to a contract this spring.
