Should we have gotten more for Iggy? Sure. But people really underestimate the worth of Feaster getting 2 additional firsts in a deep draft. IIRC only 5 firsts were traded in that draft ... both Calgary and Columbus acquired two and Buffalo acquired one. Teams were hesitant trading their firsts in that draft and adding Poirier and Klimchuk gave us a head start in the rebuild.
Bottom line is that personally it pisses me off when people call unproven talent "bag of pucks". Give them time to develop.
Oh and yeah, I hope Iggy gets to 30 tonight

All prospects are Fatas until they've shown they're not. For every great players like Crosby, Stamkos, or Iggy, there are several hundred average players. Then, there are a bunch of first round drafted Flames that don't even make it to the big league.

Which dumb arse would want to go to teams like the Oilers, Panthers, Buffalo, or NYI? Of course he wants to go with the hot team and with the best 2 centers and have his shot at winning the Cup. And which elite team is going to hand over 2 or 3 first rounders for what most fans and stupid media personnel called a washed up player?
Any player in this league would've chosen Pens as their team last year to win the Cup. Feaster was dumb enough to trade him in the first place. Like I keep saying, if you can't get a phenomenal trade value back from trading a franchise player, just try to keep him in the organization. No sense in getting unknown average value for something that the Flames already have sure value of. Seeing him in Boston right now is bitter sweet. I'm just hoping Boston wins the cup this year.

He wasn't going to sign with the Flames in the off season. Being a UFA he was going elsewhere. Feaster got what he could.

You still don't understand... Like Dion just said, he wasn't going to sign with us in the offseason. Feaster finally recognize that we had to rebuild to get good again, and Iginla couldn't be a part of that. He traded Iginla to a powerhouse that we all thought would have a good shot at going far in the playoffs. Feaster of course could have been better for what he traded our franchise player for, of course it wasn't a good return. However, at least we got something out of him.

TSN Insider Trading: Darren Dreger: The Bruins have reached out to Jarome Iginla’s agent last week. There hasn’t been any back-and-forth talk. The Bruins don’t have the tag room to do a deal in-season.

Can anyone say that he won't score 30 this year, at this point ? The Bruins will sign him again, they really want him to stay. Fans included.

As they should. Iginla a hall of famer. He may not be elite anymore, but he's still a top end forward and all around amazing guy.
...I wish he'd come back here, but am glad he's with Boston (2nd favourite team). I'll be cheering all spring for him to get his cup.

Just hit 29. Even the Capitals PBP people say he should be a 1st ballot HOFer.
When he hits 30, he will be one of 12 players in the last 30 years to score 30+ in a season when aged 36 or higher
And there it is.. JJAAAROOOOMMMEEEEE IIIGGGGIINNNLLLAAAAA
#30. Congratulations Iggy!

Not mocking you, but not really a big stretch to say the current #25 all time goal scorer and #50 all time in points is a first ballot hall of famer.
Interesting note: Now even with Lafleur, 1 behind Modano and 4 behind Sundin and Nieuwendyk. Could end the season in 21st.

I just thought it was more interesting the caps pbp people recognize him as being that good for so long since he played in Calgary %97 of the time. Always interesting to hear other teams commentary on our players (current and alumni)

CapGeek @capgeek 52s 1/2 Jarome Iginla has already earned $3.7M of his $4.2M performance bonuses. Because he just hit 30 goals, he can now earn an additional ...
CapGeek @capgeek 32s
2/2 $250K if the #Bruins win three playoff rounds and another $250K if they win the Stanley Cup.
Edit: Also, Jarome Iginla is selfishly screwing the Bruins cap over by being so damn awesome:
CapGeek @capgeek 59s That also means the #Bruins will be faced with a significantly reduced upper limit next season due to bonus overages.
